This man looks like very well grounded and balanced. Unlike many fighter when they are on top they do lot of loose and trash talk, Dricus is exception to that.

I've been a Dricus fan for a while now, and honesty the more I hear the guy speak, the more I like him. He's a great fighter with an unconventional style. He's level headed, sharp and articulate. He's cheeky and can certainly deliver on the trash talk when its time to hype up a fight. But he can also turn off the trash talk after a fight and give anyone the accolades they deserve. Also, I think Dricus would make a phenomenal coach if he ever decided to do that at the end of his fighting career. Well done Dricus, you are definitely a deserving champ.

Anderson Silva was looking great until 37, I think Israel has more gas in the tank for another title run. The problem is not the age but the division caught up to him, the newer fighters have figured him out, have better grappling and are quite tall.
@makimastan
@makimastan 2 күн бұрын
His bad habits are catching up on him since he's not as athletic as he used to be, his main defensive skill was quick reflexes and reaction time and he's just not as quick as before. He also doesn't have the same type of power someone like Alex does to aid in his age
@rafayg7376
@rafayg7376 2 күн бұрын
Fam Anderson Silva didn't have over 100 fights across 3 different sports. Izzy is a lot more burnt out than Silva was. He literally has nothing else to give. Also what the guy above me mentioned, he relied on a lot of bad habits like leaning back. Shit only works when you're a great athlete with supreme reflexes. It won't work forever.

I don't think you can do a 1:1 of any and all fighters. I think Adesanya's kickboxing career before he even came to the UFC at 29 needs to be kept in mind. Then there are considerations to be made that, at this level of the sport when everyone is pushing their limits, similar to the Olympics, that the window of age tightens on peak performance the higher in the sport you get. Anderson Silva was a legend and will forever be so, but, with the field of MMA progressing so fast due to its youth, Izzy's bar to perform against competition to stay dominant was also naturally higher, as with most champs of the current generation needing to contend with more and more fighters raised earlier and earlier for success in a sport that has eclipsed the early 2010s UFC in reach, money, fame, and consequently talent of those seeking UFC glory massively. I don't think it's hard to say we're approaching an era where we might struggle to see any dominant champs hold the belt for multiple years by the late 2020s. Even the image of the Dagestanis, which was built by an ironclad dominance rooted in their culture wrestling and dreaming of fighting on the world stage since birth, has been brought down from the stratosphere with the newer gen Umar, losing to Merab and even Usman facing considerable challenge against Hughes in Bellator.

After watching the presser with Strickland, its shocking how poles apart the fighters and their fans are. What has happened to America?? Fighters are too quick to jump divisions. I think they should win the title and then continue to defend at least 3, 4, 5 times. You need to clear your division before you can go elsewhere. Too many divisions get held up by champs trying to jump around.
