Boxing press conferences, especially pre-fight, have been surprisingly lame for years. Eddie’s ARE better, because HE is charismatic and has great social sense.. ..but..if they all did it like the UFC, that seems WAY better..who knows what the best protocols might be, but the UFC press conferences don’t leave me wondering why I’m listening to some of these people and formalities. It seems respectfully done..some traditional, honorary gestures..but if you want us to be way more likely to watch and WANT to watch the whole thing - cut that fluff! Think about how out of sync that pacing is with successful contemporary media. I hope Eddie capitalizes on this relatively easy winnovation. ,{^_^}”

Hearn cooked Ariel on his boxing knowledge and then Ariel cooked boxing on the press conferences. Both were 100% on point though. Boxing press conferences are TERRIBLE. Boxing could learn a lot from UFC. There shouldn’t be 3 or 4 belts in every division, that’s the dumbest part of boxing. There should be one belt in each division and the best should fight the best. Promotors have ruined boxing. The top guys rarely fight each other, everyone wants to protect their perfect record and fight cans 99% of the time, it’s ridiculous. Should never be -1600 favorites in a title fight. No one wants to watch that $hit.

You are comparing one organisation of MMA to a whole sport in Boxing. UFC isn’t all of MMA.. there’s also Bellator, PFL, ONE, Cage Warriors etc. They each have a belt in their organisations. Mike’s opponents since switching to boxing, albeit bare knuckle: Julian Lane (4-6 in BKFC) Michael Page (Karate guy [fight went to OT, many believe Perry lost) Luke Rockhold (MMA guy, 40 y/o) Eddie Álvarez (40 y/o) Thiago Alves (40 y/o) Similar to Jake, Mike has earned his name by beating MMA guys (in boxing) who are past their prime. Jake is the first actual boxer he’s about to face and Mike’s only been KO’ed in his career in boxing (I know Geoff Neal finished him, but that was via headkick and, technically, it was a TKO, not a KO). As far as boxing, Jake’s the most high level boxer he’s faced, Mike likes to get hit and Jake hits hard, Jake by KO.

I don’t think Perry’s style does well in 10 Oz gloves & it only being 8 rounds doesn’t benefit him either. Bare Knuckle suits Perry not just bc of lack of gloves & the ring size & shape which make getting inside & landing not an if but when inevitably happen.
