@@LyricsOfBestSongs I agree 100%. Plenty of champions say what he says and do what he does, but when they become champion they don’t keep it the same. Some examples are Khabib, Conor, Usman. Conor had the same mindset, but i felt like he took a different path and tried to become the biggest he could be. Conor started to chase money more than championships and i think that’s the biggest difference. Khabib and usman don’t have any interest in fighting in any other divisions after they beat everyone so i think that’s another thing that makes Volk special.

When you play 2nd grade pro rugby in nsw (by far the most competitive sport in nsw Australia) in the prop position, the most physical position on the field (where the average player in that position are 120kg/250pounds+ monsters) and not just that, win the leagues mvp medal…in comparison the 145 pounders look tiny - Alex has said as much in interviews. That environment, and the determination it took be successful there in it as a 5’6er I believe translated to his massive domination now, and remember he only start MMA at something like 26 or 27. Here’s a man who wouldn’t let his size define him, all the cards were stacked again him. He came from no money and risked everything with his young family (taking out loans and holding community fundraisers to get over and train with Tiger muy tai in the hopes to chase his dream. Love you Volko and thankyou coach Joe Lopez for finding and taking on this totally unique talent

Alex has been so good and if he wins vs Max , I'll be surprised if he's not the P4P number 1 and on top of that he should be regarded as the greatest 145lb mixed martial artist to ever do it . Also , i did not see this coming from Alex , thinking it'll be a easy night for him vs Charles. Charles is a different beast right now , he's better than what people give him credit for . The likes of Chandler , former champ , Dustin and Justin both interim chaps , put to sleep by Charles. I like Volk’s thought process about having to face Max for a third time. If He does in fact beat Max without a doubt you have to give him the pound for pound goat 🐐 status! Because if you’re comparing opponents Max is the toughest challenge, second would be Adesanya beating Whitaker followed by a close third Usman beating Covington but Max is undoubtedly held in higher regard than Whitaker and Covington!

Honestly if Max loses to decision again Volk is the hungrier and better fighter. I feel like Max coasts sometimes and doesn't fight every fight with the same kind of heart. He's the kind of guy who fights simply out of enjoyment which I respect, but he needs to take the championship completely seriously if he wants to win. No taunting or stepping off the gas.

Alex moreso IMO because he's the more complete MMA fighter. Max is predominately a striker with some solid defensive grappling chops, but he gets hit WAY too much. Sooner or later Max's chin will go, and it'll be brutal and devastating end like what happened to Tony last weekend.
