Cherry pick? He cleared out the heavyweight division before getting his title shot with Francis. Look at his resume compared to Tom or Sergei, man has triple the ranked opponents as the current interim champ.

He ducked a lot of the current top contenders and thinks his current wins over tai tuivasa (who got destroyed by pavlovich) and sergei spivak ( who got destoryed by aspinal) is enough to guarantee yet another title shot. He gets what he deserves right now. And by definition, ducking certain fighters for others is cherry picking.

Shall we list their ranked opponents? Cyril has 3x the ranked opponents and 2x the top 5 opponents over Aspinal. All Aspinal did was beat overhyped Sergei.

@@zombieepx1933 Tom called him out right after Gane won his fight against Spivac when Tom was #4 in the rankings coming off a dominant win against Tybura. Tom even went as far as going to Paris to watch Gane fight to emphasise how much he wanted the fight. That's about as clear a duck as you can get. Plus people around Pavlovic and Blaydes say he turned down fights with both of them in 2023 when they were both top 5 in the rankings, not as clear but that's two more potential ducks. Also remind me what are the huge names that Gane has beat that put his resume far ahead of Tom's? The only relevant big name he's got in the win column is Volkov who Tom also beat in far more dominant fashion.

Pavlovic just fought for the title and lost. Unless Gane does something why not give it to Blaydes? If Jailton would’ve won he probably would’ve got the title I don’t like the idea it’s only a title eliminator for one fighter.

Blaydes was a very tough match for Almaida no doubt and I knew that before the fight too and Blaydes won in spectacular fashion. For Almeida I still think he has lots of potential, he works very hard on his body to keep it in shape and if he could apply that same effort into working on the mma skills like the ground and pound when he has top control or into the striking when he's holding an opponent up against the cage, then he will be very dominant. If he wants to keep avoiding the standing strike game from a distance then that's fine but he has to learn how to throw some strikes while he's holding on to his opponent either on the fence or ground and that will force his opponents to open up to putting themselves into vulnerable positions for him to submit them and he has to find other ways to submit his opponents other than the rear naked choke because everyone knows that's what he's going for.
