@Mike Ripple People say that but they don’t realise that she has a lot of technique actually. She is a master at closing the distance. She was able to close the distance on Valentina Shevchenko without getting hit and totally neutralised her Muay Thai which no one has been able to do. Also, she’s the best in the division at fighting off her back. Fighters take her down but can’t control her because she’s always scrambling and moving and they gas themselves out trying to keep her on her back.

@Mike Ripple Hardly destroyed. She just underestimated her ground game, so yes she made a mistake. At the time, no one knew Valentina could throw up submissions but Pena was controlling her for most of the fight. Aside from two takedowns Valentina couldn’t do anything with Pena and had to use BJJ. If they were to fight again I think Pena will win. Now that she knows Valentina is a threat on the ground I doubt she’ll make the same mistake.

I saw a recent training video from Pena and it looks like she's recovered from her injury, so hopefully her fight with Aspen is rescheduled soon.

Pena has a Wanderlei silva type style to her striking to me. Definitely physical. Do I think she can run over nunes like the way she does ? No. Why. Nunes is the more efficient striker. Julianna is a media darling, and knows how to work it. But overall, the MMA fan base isn't buying what the media selling. She got a title shot by fabricating a fake soap opera fairytale, about Amanda Nunes ducking her. Her tap out victory over an uncharacteristically gassed out Amanda, got her a few minutes of fame. But, that's done now. The only thing that keeps her in the spotlight is her hype train propaganda crap, against the now retired Amanda.
