To be fair, the concept of 'health in all shapes and size' is severely flawed. You can't be healthy when your BMI is above 30 or under 15. Your blood work may look normal for now but doesn't mean you're healthy. But I agree with you that Asian culture tend to put a lot of emphasis on being slim and correlate it to being 'healthy', but you can still be unhealthy if you fall within the extreme spectrums (too low or too high) of the weight range. I think the concept started off with good intention but it's often being exploited for fat acceptance.

@@rubiirae yea definitely, we also should be careful with equating BMI with health, which is also the whole idea of the all shapes and sizes statement, sometimes a single number or the weight itself might not necessarily mean unhealthy/healthy. you could be suffering from mental health or have body image issue but your BMI and blood works is perfect, but I personally won't call this healthy. This guy could look skinny with his suit on but he could have a lean frame to start with, or he could be having the optimal amount of lean muscles under the suit, no one knows for sure just by watching the video. Still, doesn't interfere with his professionalism and practice, or if he's qualified to give nutritional advice.

@@rubiirae i have to add an extreme case here. It is possible to be healthy when your BMI is above 30, especially for weightlifters. You can also be unhealthy having a normal BMI, which is actually very common. You have to look at the body fat percentage as well. As an athlete (sort of), I honestly think BMI is misleading. FFMI will be a better indicator. Of course it is true that you can’t be very healthy when you are obese / extremely underweight, but I think that the phrase “health in all shapes and size” doesn’t really mean you are healthy even if you are obese. At least it didn’t mean that at first. I actually think that it carries meaning like “there are more than one way to live healthily”, or to encourage people not to be too restrictive on their diet, thinking that only if they follow those Instagram models diets then they can have the ideal body shape and be happy. P.s. not trying to prove you wrong or anything. Sorry if I sound rude. Just that I have too many friends that care only about their weights, not knowing that they are not really healthy and their weights are within the BMI range only because they are low in fat-free mass.

Dieting very simple just eat less salt sugar n rice , 8 hours eats naturally 14 to 16 hours fasting everyday. Eat From 12 noon to 8 at night.
@rubiirae3 жыл бұрын
This can't be more stupid. Not everybody is suitable for intermittent fasting. At the end of the day, calories in calories out. If you consumed more calories than your body needed, you'll gain weight, if you're on a deficit, you'll lose weight. Just because you only eat 8 hours a day between 12 PM to 8 PM doesn't mean you won't overeat.

@@manwah893 I mean, he could be naturally skinny like that but yeah, he seems to spending way too much effort on staying within the lower end of the normal BMI range by controlling his diet. But it appears that he neglected that a healthy lifestyle also includes moderate exercise. He looks like he can benefit from doing some weight training and yoga to fix his posture. I'm not suggesting him to get super muscular like a bodybuilder, but a little bit more muscles won't hurt since he's frail like paper right now I'm worried that he can't withstand the typhoon season 😂

@@rubiirae agree. I dont think he needs to be that cautious in controlling his intake. He looks underweight.
From personal experience, I have found a helpful dietary regime to manage my weight. Beside adhering to a list of selective list of healthy, fresh food, restricting meat intake every other day, consuming higher fish, less red meat, I also attempt to cut down on the size of each meal, replacing full lunch with fruits, bread or halving lunch portion 3 times a week. I cook at home every day and have improved my home-cooking with reduced oil, salt, zero sugar increased vinegar to te extent that I enjoy my own food to the extent that I have adopted a new habit of stepping away from the dinning table after finishing the first serving of food and sitting out to wait for my body to register the food intake before considering second serving. In a nut shell, beside healthier food choice, eating less in accordance to the daily need of calories is important in weight management.
