Thank you for the great video. I am in the process of using an Alaskan mill on my chainsaw to turn a 30' Red Oak into planks in order to make a nice 10' workbench. I will be going for a laminated top in this style due to its stability over time. My original inspiration was a book by the name "Anarchists Workbench". Appreciate you taking time to create the walk through!

good deal, i have another video on how to use the alaska sawmill. they can be frustrating to operate if the rails on the bar you have wear, or are worn on one side and the chain starts to bind the cut. i recommend you turn up the oiler on your saw as high it will go if it can be adjusted, so your chain gets plenty of oil. or even have someone put additional oil on the chain up on the tip as you're cutting. it will pay big dividends as the chain will lose a lot of oil in the cut as the sawdust will soak a lot of it up.

The small boards have a function or visual reasons?

no, there's no real function really, just visual. it's more artistic than anything else. it seemed like a good idea to mix things up a bit and make a unique workbench top
