Hello friends. We went to an unmanned, restricted island in Honnavara named Basavaraja Durga. The island is open to the public only on Markara Sankranti each year. The rest of the day, it is closed to the general public. The island comes under Indian Naval service, and to go there on other days, one has to get special permission. Luckily, we got the chance to go there and share the beautiful video with you all.

I'm truly blessed to be at Basavaraja Durga Island. It was a steep trek. Midway I came back alone to the shore fearing of troubles I may face going ahead. I could not walk with my footwear. Without footwear it was difficult as the way is filled with thorns and sharp stones. Also there is a great deal of balancing required while trekking here. When I reached back to the boat, a localite stopped me and told me to have faith in Sri Durga Parameshwari. He told me to complete the purpose of my visit to island. He positively spoke with me and joined with me to hilltop. I learnt that I should not be anxious about my future. If I be confident with myself , I can reach my destiny. Way back to the boat was also a challenge. But wooow... everything went good. Regards to Sandeep & Rajesh and everyone for being with us in this divine visit. Thank you Rithesh Anna and Sneha. Had a super experience. If you had not asked me twice I would not have this super experience!

All beaches and islands are not the same. Some beaches are ferocious and not good for visiting or any kind of activity. I hope you are aware of the Kurumgad boat accident, which is just a few kilometers away from this island. If you are not aware, then search for it on Google. Few islands are restricted due to security reasons. Let's not make everything a tourist spot and invite trouble.

Its not a activity run by any company or firm. Its a restricted zone and no one goes there. Even if you wish to go there you can't without permission of Navy, Tashildar, forest department etc. Getting permission from all departments take so much time. The island is cleaned to make a small path to climb one day prior to Sankranti. If you go there any other day you can't even enter the island. The boats that go there once a year is of fishermen who are expert swimmers. Their job is fishing and not to take anyone to the island. Going there is purely voluntary and ones personal choice. People should carry their own life jackets if they feel unsafe.
