That bed was enormous. If I ever win the Lotto I would test drive one of these in a heartbeat.

I would pay the shipping to get one to the USA. Carthago builds a fine looking unit.

If one of these Fine Euro Machines comes to America, it's over for the RV Mob here who builds to 1970' s Standards, with 1980's Woodwork and Furnishings..

Barry Epstein - You said it! The styling in our US RVs is so ugly! Waste of space, excessive gas consumption, and ugly as sin. Euro vehicles are so stylish. By the way, German RV maker Hymer has already introduced its first US van. A bit small by US standards, but all the Euro chic you could ask for, in a diesel package.

You do realize you can get diesel motorhomes in America aswell? Cummins or Catarpillar engines (or Detroit Diesel if your looking at a Prevost bus type motorhome). I live in the UK but America has got it's share of luxury motorhomes too, Newmar, Bluebird, Leisure Travel, Mobile Suites, Country Coach etc. Of course alot of them aren't in business anymore and some of em aren't brand new but I agree generally that American RV's , though I have looked at alot of them (I'll never own a vehicle can't drive though my dad has a campervan hence why I'm interested in em), most US motorhomes are very old-fashioned and cheaply made by comparison. I do like the look of some of the older Winnebago's and stuff though, just depends what you want I guess.

You are so right. I got carpeted recently for saying the same thing as a Brit.

The layout I'd prefer, as there's just two of us, would be to lose the side sofa where the tv is and replace it with a row of maybe three quite shallow cupboards. Hide the tv behind them on an electric lift and then we wouldn't have to squeeze around the table to get to the front seats as the cupboards wouldn't be as deep as the sofa, and the front seats could also revolve fully. I'd want the table to fold in half to form a semi-circle when required. I'd then like the large part of the L-shaped sofa to be able to recline as two separate recliners with raising footrests and decent headrests. Edit: This could all be swapped around actually, so that the tv and cupboards are where the L-shaped sofa is, then a decent reclining sofa on the side where the tv is as standard. Anyway, critique follows... ;o)

Things I didn't like the look of: the passenger step looks too small to safely step down onto and the gap between it and the door looks too big. The steering wheel mechanism is exposed and ugly and the wiring behind it could easily be damaged. I imagine the mechanism would be very slack after a few years. The tv mechanism looks cheap and nasty. The oven is ridiculously, and dangerously, high. Wobbly shower door! I know it's not the most important thing in the world but better runners would make it not seem cheap and flimsy. The toilet looks like it would be very small if you wanted the door closed for some privacy, and just a curtain to separate the bedroom from the loo?? Could you do a review of a Hymer Starline S for comparison? :o)

Is there one where it has a twin bed or maybe it can be like an adult size bunker beds with a full double closet and the front sofa 🛋 can turn into a bed with removable table, I’m gonna also need a privacy shield for the front car 🚘 driver and passenger windows. Wait how much is this, because I’m planning to do a full time living? Can we change the oven/grill position and put at the bottom while the freezer goes to the top?
@MotorhomeCampervan3 жыл бұрын
Yes to most of these questions - have a look at other models in the Carthago range and you'll find twin single beds in several models and many with drop-down double beds over the lounge/cab. This is an A-class we are reviewing here so it already has a doubled bed above the cab so would you also want a lounge that converts into yet another bed? Privacy window blinds are standard in almost every motorhome. I'm not sure about the full double closet and changing the oven/grill so they are questions to discuss with a dealer.

I cannot believe this is a 2 berth??!! I didnt see a drip down bed above the drivers seat so unless I've missed something, I'm assuming it is.

No, it's a four-berth with a drop-down cab bed but you can have cupboards instead if you don't need that.

I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with MMM reviews that are simply a verbal affirmation of the manufacturers sales blurb. It would be nice to read a serious critique of the vehicle concentrating on areas of poor quality and where improvements could be made in fit, finish, and facilities.

In a campsite. For a small charge most will let you empty and fill even if you're not staying with them.

Many rest stops in Europe habe a place to empty the tank ... however, it is never very clean ! Best to have another type of toilet of which there are many: Composting Toilet Cassette Toilet Incinaration Toilet Separrette Toilet
