Hi Emma! Thank you very much for your videos. They are very interesting and clear. I understood your explanation but when I was thinking about the examples, I had a doubt. What would be the difference between "I was riding my bike when I saw my friend" and "Í´d been riding my bike when I saw my friend"? In both sentences, the action is in progress at some point in the past (riding) and in both sentences, the action was interrupted by another action in the past. Thank you very much!!

I mean, you could actually use past continous if you want to, like "we had waited for the bus for an hour, when finally the bus arrived". Also, if i comprehend it completely, emma said, past perfect continuous is not really commonly used in the spoken language, since it's quite formal.
