Answer for Case study Q6-b-iv Being a personal Director . I would have accessed this issue in a different way and would have terminated neither of them. Upon listening to the justification of the employees I would have issued them a warning notice and explained to them the consequences of the situation. Because as a director /manager every employees actions directly or indirectly affect my managerial performance. Secondly the act of the employee Bhola was totally unethical as he used another individuals punch card without the consent of that individual and also violating the company’s code. A punch card being the employees attendance for the day and is issued to an individual it is that individuals responsibility to keep it safe. In this case of Bhola and Nathu, both have violated a rule and since it was their first instance of such a wrong doing I would have issued them a 1st warning letter. I would also inform that after receiving 3 warnings for the same reason, they will be terminated. And as we can see in this case, probably the employees were not aware of the consequences of unethical use of the punch card , I would request the management to organise training and informative sessions for the use of punch card and the outcomes of unethical use of the same. Since, I would have not terminated either of the employees and since I would explain it to them and only issue a warning letter. I would have saved the company the hastle and cost of re-hiring and re-training new employees. Also as we can see in the above case scenario , terminating the employees brought about dissatisfaction amongst the employees, poor performance and also this all lead to a delay in delivery of products to one of the company’s best customer.
