Great work on the paint job Bruno! I have to say Hasbro should be able to handle a simple thing such as details. They have the means and resources. Lightning collection has a wide array of awesome figures, but the monsters tend to get neglected more often than not.

My hope is they really want Turbo to start off with a Turbo ranger and Phantom is like getting a head start on interest/accessories. I assume trying to replicate Phantom Rangers weapon from Turbo would probably be difficult. I assume they cobbled together stuff and painted it black for a 2 second scene. Did the prop even survive the day of shooting? Magna Defender.....they were saving costs on that one. As to rights issues with Turbo. I feel Hasbro would have worked that out when they purchased the brand. That Saban would have worked it out when PR got sold to Disney and when Disney sold it back to Saban. Even popularity, I would think Hasbro wouldn't be scared of the name after all this time and various shows with a different kind of reputation(for the show and cast).

I remember Ecliptor killing off Phantom Ranger in the final episodes of In Space, he is an interesting character so whoever is in charge of the lightning collection series probably wanted him to be released but didn’t want to commit to releasing the Turbo series so they just added him in the In Space series where he did feature in a few episodes.

Eye Guy still hasn't arrived for me yet. Same with In Space Phantom Ranger and Pink Ranger, Dino Charge Green, and Zeo Yellow, but I will say your paint job on Eye Guy makes me wish Todd McFarlane did Power Rangers figures. Since his paint jobs tend to be really good compared to his prices.

@@MMPRtoys IKR?! One of the managers at my local Gamestop(formally EB Games), has commented on the terrible paint jobs of Marvel Legends characters. So much to the point where he stopped buying them. And when you can make your Eye Guy look that good just from paint, It makes me doubt Hasbro as a company. Especially when they neglected the black outline around the visor of Dino Thunder White Ranger.

I don't know. The releases are all over, and inconsistent. Lots of MMPR, just now completing ZEO, Phantom from Turbo, lots of figures for In Space. They started Lost Galaxy with three figures... and then nothing. Nothing for Lightspeed. We got Wes for Time Force, and nothing else. Time Force was very popular. Now we're on to Wild Force, with Lunar Wolf. Nothing from Ninja Storm. Three Dino Thunders (yet no Tommy? 😲 - yet, anyway) Look at all of the SPD stuff! ...what happened to yellow though? Zero Mystic Force. Zero Overdrive. Zero Jungle Fury. Zero Samurai. Zero Mega/Super Megaforce. Dino Charge is slowly coming together. Zero Ninja Steel. They did Beast Morphers during Beast Morphers, but now years later still no yellow/silver? But now we're starting Dino Fury. They're just kinda all over the place. Turbo's just another season they haven't really gotten to, yet. I imagine we'll keep seeing new teams and new figures for existing teams.

@@skeulllem850 I'm always excited for more new teams, but I'm realizing lately just how many people really never made it past MMPR. I'm surprised by how many people didn't even know the Phantom Ranger. I was talking to a guy earlier today who was telling me after 1999 the show got to childish for him.. ?!? So... Lightspeed, Time Force, Wild Force... the show had really grown up with its audience by that time, and those seasons had some of the darker scenes of Power Rangers. Lots of great Disney seasons too. And RPM being among the most adult-friendly Power Ranger seasons. I don't know. A lot of fans just lose interest after a certain time and then can't watch another season. They believe the show was only great until they stopped watching, and then nothing else could be good. For many fans, that was the first season. (Also just heard from a guy, huge MMPR fan, seen every episode, had no idea Jason was replaced as red ranger...) So, that's why it was MMPR MMPR MMPR with Saban and Bandai, and now Hasbro. They know what people watch & buy. So many great other seasons, it is a shame.

@@MMPRtoys yeah I totaly understand that nostalgia is a powerful commercial factor, but I was born in 2002 and my power rangers childhood is disney era for the mort part and I feel like we see to much mmpr will we have other great team or megazord and not only with disney I like time force or lightning rescue. I hope they will look larger with the lightning collection. At one point they will have done all they can do with mmpr 😆😆 (btw excuse me if I made mistake in my sentence, it's because I'm french 😆 and thank you for all your videos they are so cool and your animation are incredible !)

I Was just reading Power Rangers Unlimited and although the comic itself uses the correct colors for the Phantom Rangers Helmet, there is a cover art with him that has the part above his visor colored Silver. So I guess it was not just a mistake for the figure Edit: He also does the blast thing from his chest in the comic

I saw a random theory online saying something along the lines of Disney still owning the rights to Turbo for the most part. Resulting in Hasbro hastily calling Phantom Ranger a In Space character to prevent them from paying Disney. But for now it appears to be mostly a wild theory. My wild theory is that Hasbro is aware that Turbo isn’t exactly a well liked season. So they call him a character from a more well liked season. Maybe that’s why there’s no Turbo figures in the Lightning Collection yet. And that Eye Guy is definitely improved by the black wash. I’d go for painting the lids in a off-white first before hand. But the wash alone still works great. All it’s missing are the few unpainted eyes needing pupils.

Eye Guy is tricky. They've used different plastic in different areas, and the main body is very glossy. Things don't want to stick. Yeah, there are ways to fix that, but if you're trying not to make it a big project, he's a little bit of a pain. All of the eyes I tried to paint/marker in have rubbed off. I'm still workin' on him. He was my test-Eye-Guy. Some figures I have spent a decent amount of time on, I was trying to get away with just black paint for him and keeping the eyes clean. As for fan theories... man. I've been actively part of the PR community for a while now, and (as I'm sure is true with lots of fandoms...) people like to just make things up. And for reasons I don't understand, the more untrue something is, the more it seems to spread and the more people seem to believe it. While I can't disprove that specific theory yet... I'm calling BS. If Hasbro can make characters from a season owed by Disney, still call them "Power Rangers" and have them look the same, but just change the name and be okay... well, there's their fix. So, bring out the Carrangers. Or Turborangers. Or Super Megaforce Car Powers-Rangers. People say the same about the movie, yet here come Ninjetti figures and Tengas. Had Hasbro called them Tengu instead of Tenga they'd have to pay? Hasbro works with DIsney. Marvel & Star Wars are Disney. I'm sure they could make a deal to release movie/Turbo figures. I'm sure we all remember when Shinkenger could never come over due to being "too Japanese" and Goseiger being "too religious." (I can't remember the one for Gokaiger but there was a reason that couldn't come over too). I really don't believe Disney has control over the TV series. I don't know what the story is with the movie, but Bandai did original movie figures in 2015/16ish. If Bandai can do it, I'm sure Hasbro can. We'll see. But, those are my thoughts on that.

And as far as turbo goes, the movie suits were technically different than the series, if that weird Disney theory was true. They didn't have the shoulder triangles in the movie.

Too many great seasons. Mia says, "Oh you always just default to Wild Force!" Well, that is a fantastic season, they don't make 'em like that anymore! But every season from In Space to Wild Force was fantastic. Turbo gets a lot of hate, but actually had a lot of good things going on in that season, and a few really great episodes and amazing finale. Gotta love the original MMPR, also loved ZEO. Gold Ranger's appearance is still one of the greatest ranger intros of all time. Then Disney had a bunch of great seasons too... Mia votes for Dino Thunder, that fight with Tommy & Elsa in front of the school as civilians was friggin brilliant. Oh, she added maybe not her favorite overall, but did enjoy it and still loves that sequence. (Also loved Mystic Force, SPD, Ninja Storm, Jungle Fury...) Ninja Steel is not my favorite.

@@MMPRtoys I might be a bit biase but one of my favourites is Power rangers Samurai since it was my first Power Rangers and I had all the toys and a costume. I look back at it now and just like the nostalgia, especially watching the RPM and Samurai cross overs. I am currently binging MMPR and I feel like this could be coming close to my favorite. SPD, dino thunder, in space, mega force and super mega force, RPM, Zeo just to name a few are also up there for me.

Depending on what you're painting and what paint you're using, that can ruin a figure. What I'm doing is zero danger. Look at how many figures I've done over the years. Eye Guy was dry and posed for this video, I certainly would have noticed such an issue before the video was posted. Now, if you tried to spray paint a model kit, if you spray parts that fit tightly together and need to twist for posing, you'll likely break the piece when you try to move it.

To be fair, the same could be asked of Alien Rangers, Lightspeed, Ninja Storm, Mystic Force, Overdrive, Jungle Fury, RPM, Samurai, Megaforce, Super Megaforce, and Ninja Steel. And we could ask where the rest of Lost Galaxy, Time Force, Wild Force, Dino Thunder, Dino Charge, Beast Morphers, Dino Fury, and the BOOM Comics are. My guess is b/c the figures are $20+ a piece, nearly 30 years of figures, and Hasbro has only had the brand for a few years with new things constantly coming out. If they released every character ever, all at once, it would probably be cheaper to just buy a house. So, over time I expect to see more teams.

@@hurricaneparro2464 Well, probably not surprising that I strongly disagree with that. The difference is night and day. He absolutely needs it. The Hasbro Eye Guy doesn't even have as much paint as the original $5 main line Bandai figure (which also had an action feature). That's part of the LC, having "premium deco." No paint is not how I describe "premium deco" at a $33 price point. I included reference footage so you can see he indeed has that black on him in the show. The figure really looks cheap and unfinished w/o it.
