Hi. Where do you buy these figures? What would be the name of a store that sells these figures? They sell them in hobby stores. Are there web sites that sell them? Can you buy them completely finished painted or just unpainted. How would I go about getting started in this hobby?

The figures are resin kits sold by many different manufacturers, often as limited runs. Also, many are scratchbuilt, meaning they are one-off works of art. There are many places that sell figures, most often resin but now also 3D printed. I would google "Resin figure model" and what type you are looking for: Sci-Fi, Historic, Anime, soldier...etc. That should get you started. If you are looking for fully assembled and painted models, you should google for assembled and painted figure model. Some modelers also do commission work, building the kits for buyers. Be warned, fully painted figures are NOT cheap. You can also try eBay to find this stuff, but buyer beware there...
