Today we mark the 100th anniversary of the Irish Free State Constitution coming into effect. This meant all women over the age of 21 years could vote.
From 1922 onward, Irish women were admitted to the Parliamentary franchise on the same terms as Irish men.
For many women worldwide, securing the right to vote was not achieved until later... some of these dates may surprise you.
