Don't forget that he is completely self-made and came from nothing. His unusual looks, poor family background and rabid k-nets didn't make it easy. He went through a lot of abuse even as one of first true Hallyou stars and sex symbols. (Though smitten man did screw up by getting caught on dates during military service.) Add to that the fact that he was stuck paying back a huge debt incurred by his father when he was a just a kid (I think that the laws have been changed by now to free children of debtors from the insane burden.) He's such a good man. A couple if years ago I loved how he put his reality show guests in their place and reminded them to be considerate and quiet, that they are visiting his family's home, i.e. his wife and children's safe place. They are lovely together.

Koreans said that he was lucky, but it's definitely both. A small private wedding (her family's loaded!) and even more private life where he guards his family is all anyone could wish for. He's a gem.
