Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I have heard that before. I keep forgetting to try it when I change oil in my truck, just to see. You think it will work in a chev 350 engine. I will find out just to know. Edit; there are a few comments stating the same from other mechanics, so there is certainly something to it. Unless it's a mechanic joke - yah, check the blinker fluid while your at it. I am dumb enough to find out though.

As a temporary fix for the leaking drain plug (or missing gasket / crush washer and parts stores are closed) you can back the drain plug out enough to get a couple/three/four wraps of cotton string / twine (think masons string) then retighten the drain plug. Viola - no more leaks. Call it a pro tip, pro hack, diy hack or jerry-rig, it works!

Enjoy watching you and your dad working together, I loved helping my dad on the farm growing up, my dream was to farm with him but he never farmed very much and he actually ended up taking bankruptcy and had to quite farming back in the 80's. He always sold half his crop on futures and thought he was always safe doing that until we had a very dry year and he didn't even have half a crop to take out, you could drive the combine back and forth several times in the field before getting a full hopper on combine. By the way I always liked those Red machines but we did have 1 green tractor it was a gas 3020.
@ronchappel4812

So a really dumb question: If one oversells on futures you end up buying high and selling low to make up the difference right? And yes i probably should have asked someone this decades ago 😅

Oh WOW!! That accelerator pump snapped back some memories!! My right foot jumped into sync with the sound. Even had the required wait while the fuel pump filled the carb bowl so further pumping actually put gas down the throat. Been there, done that. Had to back up to check for the arm strong manual air conditioning. LOVE those wing vents!! Twist em around and get a hurricane right on the parts that need it most!! LOL Hopefully, you did not catch and direct a bee into that area. Those vents also kept the byproducts of chili supper out of the cab too. Thanks for the memory jog Zack!! Looking forward to seeing that building take shape out there. Hope the crops are good this year too. Thanks for taking us all along.

Don’t know if it’s been said but if you are like most of us, you have your phone with you all the time. Take a pic of your hose setup before you unhook it and make that pic one of your favorites so it’s easier to find. Next time you go to hook up your planter, pull up that pic and bam, you’re in business. Just a suggestion to help the head scratching! 🤣

Hey Zach on the hydraulic line on the planter On hydro 1 zip tie them together about 18 20 inches to know witch pair go together. On one side of the pair put 1 zip tie on the right side hose. Hose 2 do the same only use 2 on the right. Hose 3 same only 3 on the right. It gives you no thought just grab and hook up will save so much time and headaches

If your new shed gets moved up that will be great. Will be able to get stuff inside then during and after harvest. Looking great Zach. You all take care and be safe. That 780 looks nice...I could use it here in Texas. More time to take breaks. Every year we seem to have less corn because cotton is less demanding of our irrigation systems. We have two trucks that take 40 minutes to make a round trip. or 3300 bu per hour. We make 15,000 lbs 16% corn for each acre, guess old will have to get the corn shelled for the trucks! Nice not to have the corn dried...dry does have some advantages.
