Thank you Richard- finally I understand the carried interest tax loophole. NPR never took the time; there's always out of time on NPR. And Bob, interesting that your daughter is running a CSA. I used operate one. Unfortunately, I believe that without a pre-existing endowment, it is not a viable business model. The retail marketplace (yes, talkin' capitalism) pays more, and often, THAT isn't enough. But thanks for your courage in digging around in NJ, the state of my birth. Left 33 years ago, and other than family connections, never looked back.

Richard Wolff is being rightly seen and respected as Modern day Carl Marx-with boundless, dispassionate zeal and articulation for social, economic justice for humanity-spreading the message clearly and loudly!

Very informative. Unfortunately what you have outlined about the falling standard of journalism and the song and dance MSM is happening in New Zealand too. You are better at it though. Where you are, we are heading there, rapidly.

Very quickly Professor Wolff went by the essential observation: public infrastructure spending increasing land values, values that if justice is to be achieved must be captured by the public sector. The rising land values (i.e., ground rents) could then be specifically allocated to pay off the bonds.

When you live in a society. Based on markets you become a commodity.

@joyceann011 Look around your life- it is all brutally commercialized, sanitized and magnified advertisement day in and day out, every minute and every second of the time, Media in all its forms slavishly serving only one thing : mostly the useless product to man and the man to faceless greedy corporations. The man has been turned into a handmaid of corporate greed. Switch TV channels you jump from one advertisement to an other, luck if you switch to a show focusing on the genuine betterment of society. Civil society or civil man has been obliterated from the view of the world we are forced into every moment. Glorified though vigorously magnified images of men and women fill the sights and sounds of life around us. The society is being brutalized by such bombardment of constant messages filling the coffers of some distant corporation.

Crony capitalism As usual
@atortarr8 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Capitalists have always used the state for a mutually beneficial relationship, and the capitalists have always worked together to benefit each other at the cost of everyone else. The "crony" part can't be eliminated, because it is an inherent part of the system of capitalism.

Egads! Someone needs to advise Mr. Henley about the effect of optics on an audience. Please occasionally wipe the saliva stuck to your lips. Your intelligence is discounted by not being able to look at you without disgust. What you say is terribly important. Learn to use a handkerchief; please.

Well yeah they aren't for abolishing capitalism. Socialism is just a broad label for people who want to emphasize the people over business.
