Watching this game in quarantine. US sucks at everything they didn’t invent but they showed heart. US in the 90s had better players than today. Colombia’s soccer had evolved to be one of the most dangerous and surprising national teams out there. Theyre not the best but you fell their passion. Thats what US needs... a little passion.

Chambers Heros “to finish Colombia by far”?? i dont think so, idk what game did you watch but colombia attacked so many times the Us that the score could easily ends up in 7 - 2 ( winning colombia off course.) the US team cannot compare with the technic and fast game of Colombia, almost all of them are playing in important leagues. Not like mls. Just saying.

This match showed US soccer will never be competitive until soccer becomes the game of the working class and they get rid of pay to play. The best teams have working class players that are better athletes and more hungry. Soccer really needs to stop being the rich white kid sport in America. The last World Cup showed the Europeans nations with the most black people in France, England and Belgium got to the semifinals so US soccer needs to get more African Americans into the sport and train them right.
@ThaTyphon
@ThaTyphon 6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. So much talent in the US but they arent looking, just at the money.
@russianbot842
@russianbot842 6 жыл бұрын
soccer is by no mean the "rich white kid sport" that's absurd to say at this point.(tons of black people on the national team, like wtf?) That would have to be golf. Anyways soccer is growing very rapidly in the US and the youth systems are getting better
@Delboy0
@Delboy0 6 жыл бұрын
There are black players in the US team but they are still rich kids. Tim Weah is the son of a millionaire politician, how many NBA or NFL players have that background? I'm sorry but the US should have a team that looks like France where nearly all the players come from the inter-city, but because of pay to play that doesn't exist outside America, you need to have money to get the best coaching in the US. Pay to play will handicap the US forever until it is got rid of because in other countries youth soccer is free and about finding the best players regardless of financial background of their parents. If Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Kane, Sterling, Rashford, Neymar, Coutinho, Jesus, Firmino, Ronaldo, Salah, Mane, Suarez, Modric, Kante, Pogba, Mbappe had been born in the US they would have been too poor to be in the US soccer development system. It is funny how countries with less money than the US has free youth development systems and the US doesn't. It is because Americans are greedy and want to make money off people which is the same reason they don't have universal healthcare like the other nations in the world.
@russianbot842
@russianbot842 6 жыл бұрын
You're argument is invalid- the players you named would have enough talent that they don't need the best youth development in the world, they can get there just climbing the ranks and getting an agent. The question then would be- growing up in the US, would some of those players have chosen other sports that are more popular to the region? Soccer just isn't nearly as popular as basketball, football, even baseball yet in the US and THAT'S why our national team in general, not just youth development, has been historically subpar.
@Delboy0
@Delboy0 6 жыл бұрын
It is not an invalid argument because I name a famous example of this. Odell Beckham Jr was in the US soccer national team until the age of 15. He had to decide whether he moved to Europe for free youth development training or stay in the US and be a financial burden on his not well off family. He decided to switch sports to American football where his development would be subsidised and US soccer lost a great athlete for financial reasons. Beckham Jr has given interviews saying he slightly regrets not staying in soccer. Also my pet hate is when Americans act like they are the only country in the world with multiple popular sports. I would argue England has more mainstream sports than the US in Rugby, Basketball, Cricket, Tennis and Golf. Americans are slowly realising that elite soccer players get paid more money than the American sports and get paid in their early teens so that would be a massive advantage US soccer has over the other American sports to attract working class African Americans and White kids, but the greed of Americans means they choose to profiteer off youth development so it becomes about finding the rich parents to charge high fees to than finding the very best players. It is an absolute joke than MLS academies and unknown travel teams cost more money to be in than the Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Man City, Juventus, Man Utd, Real Madrid and Liverpool academies that are free and people wonder why the US doesn't have as good players as the rest of the world.

No yo got a wrong point with nowadays u.s squad. They good n great but they tryna play together too. I promise u u.s will wope a lot of country next world cup cause this guy's r preety ready I don't care if they lost the game for Columbia. U. S roster is full of talented soccer stars. Tyler Johnson is a bad ass skillful player along with other folks, look at the league today with MLS. Both blacks n white r on fire. So the u.s soccer men coach will not have no problem to pull better stars from each teams common. U.S is hot ..
