I am proud of my ancestors McBayne, Douglas and Armstrong who fought for Bonnie Prince Charlie and my grandfather Gillies McBayne who died at the battle of Culloden. I am also proud of my many times great grandfather, Jordan who refused to give up the Catholic faith and in turn was stripped of his nobility, banished from Ireland and sent to America as an indentured servant. Ah, yes! Absolute monarchy is such a wonderful thing! I mean, I love the romance of the Jacobite Risings, and the songs are wonderful. Every year on the 12th of July, I toast the king with a glass of water held under my beer. Then I drink another toast to the Wee Man In The Velvet Suit. But the Jacobite ideals were about Divine Right of Kings, and that's just tyrannical.
