Piggy and Gerald books helped my kids learn how to read with expression. I love reading them so dramatically, and my children see that, take that, and practice reading with expression and emotion. Our household is a BIG fan of Mo willem! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!

My son would not speak until he was forced to. He was turning 6 and we were waiting for him to bloom. I had one of the piggie and gerald book and he loved to act out the scenes. Once I saw that, I ordered the whole set. My son who wouldn’t talk now acts out all the scenes with his little brother, reads, shouts, groans, and more throughout the entire set. Now we are moving onto the pigeon book. He just loves reading Mr. Willems’ book and this clip brought me to tears.

My daughter used to get “in trouble” (not really) in K/1 because she would read the Elephant & Piggy books exactly as the font was written in the book when partner reading. Best kind of trouble you could get in! Pretty sure we read them at bedtime until she was at least 8. Always fun! Thanks so much for your contributions, Mo!

As an american who moved abroad (and has never been as happy as in the USA), one of the thing that kills my soul is the lack of silliness and goofiness here in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland . There’s a lack of joy and connection here, but I’m doing my best to bring it in full force!

I too am a big fan of Mr. Mo here, and I enjoy reading many of his books regularly with my 2 young girls. BUT, the big question for a guy of many talents @JimmyFallon (and any other commenters) - what voices do you use for the characters of these books?! I give Gerald a slower & deeper voice (appropriate to an Elephant?), bug Piggy get's a silly British accent which makes my kids giggly.
@Laura-gb1jv Жыл бұрын
For me, Gerald's voice is quieter and more monotone, while Piggy's is a bit louder, higher, and MORE emPHAtic!
