Congrats on the big progress! The comp cut looks awesome. The combination of holes with the spaces on the outer surface really make the difference. Do you have any plans to try and find a set of pins or make a set? I think once you get everything else in order, that's your next move. It'll move like it's got suction cups for feet. As always, thanks for the update! Great to hear the progress and see that it's crawling well for you. That's the payoff. See ya on the next one!

Thanks! Yeah the combo cut is pretty sweet for sure, and I think it will only get better as tthe foam breaks down a bit over time. I have three pairs of ibex tires to make cut n shuts with if I want to at some point so yeah I might have to give em a go. Thanks for watching the series! Cheers

Are you a fan of putting weights in your wheels? I like where the build is going! The shorter links gave it a cool stance 🤘

I am not, I don't like the extra stress on the drivetrain from rotational mass, however next episode does get a little heavy ;) Keep an eye out for it this weekend

@Hwy49RC "extra stress on the drivetrain" Have you seen your axle shafts? Haha, but in all seriousness, that makes sense. I'll keep an eye out!

cut some grooves across the foam in between the holes. That should keep the foam cylindrical and at the same time allow it to flex, compress and conform to the rock surface. You can also turn the tires inside out and sand away some of the thickness of the rubber.

Ooh, sanding away the rubber is a really good idea, I never thought about that! I might do that on the sidewalls and corners because those seem to be the stiffest areas.

Great amount of work I do enjoy your thought of aproaching the suspenstion and tire foam. :)

I swear by my mickey Thompson Baja prox for traction . My frankinjeep keeps up with rigs that it shouldn't have anything to do with , and I'm sure it's alot to do with my tires and the weight I have in them lol. Nice moa though !!!

I have seen those tires, I hate the way they look lol, but I would be curious to try a set at some point. Thanks for watching!

That is such a cool rig You have done an amazing job building that basically from scratch I love watching MOA's on the rocks, they move like insects or a lizard crawling over the rocks I really hope I don't sound like one of "those" RC guys because I really am only going off what I have seen on YTbut it does look very long compared to rigs ya see on West Desert Wheeler and such Also would there be traction gains to be had in a set of MOA specific pin tire? Really looking forward to seeing this rig evolve Great job

Thank you so much! Yeah it is pretty long even after shortening it but I hate square rigs haha. There probably would be traction gains to be had, the issue is finding pin tires that are this big. The only real option at this scale is to cut n shut which I have 3 pairs of ibex tired to do so with if I decided I wanted to.

lower the tire pressure
@Hwy49RC Жыл бұрын
well the wheels are vented so there's not any tire pressure to lower lol
