Yes! We had to be very careful and take it slow in some spots 😁 the view at the end totally made the challenge worth it.

I think i see trekking poles on your back pack. Did you use them at all on the hike?

Barely used it since majority of time were walking in a very narrow ridge line, and wind was so strong so trekking poles not really that helpful.

Is the trail easy to find & do to get to the staircase without any previous knowledge of it? I'm doing this tomorrow and hoping I don't get lost lol

Yes! We it was pretty clear cut. I’d recommend pulling the trail up on AllTrails and keeping it on your phone during the hike just to make sure you don’t miss a turn or anything.

😂😂😂 had to go ahead a little and then wait from there vs being on top of each other to avoid from slipping and falling onto each other. Some of those muddy passages at the end are more slippery and steep than portrayed on video haha 🤙🏼

I’m going to do this hike in June. I’ve done ridge hikes before but nothing quite this steep and long. Any advice? I’ve already got my boots, micro spikes, and gloves.

You seem pretty well-prepared! Just keep in mind with the thick gooey mud in Hawaii, it’s very easy for your spikes to detach from your shoes. It’s a pain having to keep re-fastening them on, but it’s better than going without them. Enjoy!
