Highlights of the Mighty Moataa 7s Team that dominated Sevens Rugby in Samoa in the late '80s and early '90s. Lolani Koko, Captain of Moata'a was at his best, and was unstoppable, and was rewarded with the Player of the Tournament at the 1993 Marist Samoa International 7s Tournament, Moata'a's third consecutive Cup Victory, it's fifth Cup Wins from six Cup finals in a row. Koko turned down his selection for the NZ 7s Team, and turned out helping Samoa winning the famous Hong Kong 7s for the first time ever. Koko also won the Player of the Tournament in Hong Kong that same year. These Moata'a Highlights would show why Lolani Koko, To'o Vaega, Junior Paramore, Danny Kaleopa, Anetelea Aiolupo, Alefaio Vaisuai, Michael Jones, Solomona Sua, and Filipo Saena were household names of 7s in Samoa. Majority of this Team plus four players from other clubs, went on to win the Canberra 7s, and the Hong Kong 7s for Samoa two weekends in a row.
