You have to understand that a person's childhood has a lot to do with how they are when their grown. Trauma can literally begin to scar a child to the point where they hear voices. A poor childhood could lead to depression, anxiety, anger issues, or literally any mental health problems. So although i agree that once a kid is grown they're free to make their own decisions, but you have to have a good family foundation growing up to avoid living a life that leads to premature death or prison time
