In the current version of the game, (Aug 2023) you can still do this, but the enemy base will be shielded and you'll just get the minimum reward. From what I can tell after hundreds of attempts, if you end up with three or more Champions on the board when the enemy's cannon is defeated, it is guaranteed that the base will have a shield defending it. I'm pretty sure bases are shielded based on random chance under normal conditions. Shielded bases rarely show up when you only have a few weak soldiers left at the looting stage. But if you end the encounter really strong, the chances for the base to be shielded seems to go up exponentially. I've tested this theory by having a huge army with no Champions, or having a long encounter with two or less Champions, and these situations still produce the expected random loot stage shield. However, having 3 or more Champions at the end will ALWAYS result in a shielded base. I believe this is a recently new mechanic, added to kill the "hack" in this video. Unfortunately, this mechanic makes it impossible to get the 8K trophy now since every powerful attack will guarantee the enemy will be shielded. The highest I've been able to loot is about 2K (turns into 6K with the 3x multiplier).

Just dont do those battles, do only live battles and bosses. When you enter a battle if its not either of those click the little home button in top left corner and start another battle. The order is 2 battles, 1 boss, 2 battles, 1 live battle, 2 battles, 1 duo battle and then the cycle starts over. By only doing live battle and boss (can do duo but usually low bricks yield) you ensure there's never a shield and you can max out bricks that way.

I've used 6 to 10 Nexus's many times and the base is only shielded roughly half the time. I have no idea what determines whether it is shielded or not

If you Revenge attack someone who looted your base, you get a “x3” added. Then with the multiplier, another x3 is possible for a total of x9.

@@aweDelan The new version seems to have a rule in place to avoid this hack. You can still fill the board with a huge army and a ton of Champions like you see in the video, but if your attack is too strong the enemy base will end up having a shield and you will get the minimum reward.

This doesn't really work anymore. You can still end the encounter with a bunch of Champions on the board like you see here, but the base will now magically have a shield protecting it and you will get the minimal reward. From what I can tell after hundreds of turns, thee or more Champions at the end will guarantee a shielded base.

There’s been a ton of changes recently. As of the last major patch this week (first week of Nov, 2023), the 8k trophy is perfectly possible using this strategy. The trick is to use this only on Boss fights, specifically the single or double tower fights. It’s possible on other boss or live fights but different tactics are needed. Also, if you get super lucky, some revenge fights will have no shield at the end. My guess is that one out of 20 revenge fights will be shieldless. Those fights have a built in modifier, either 3x or 5x. I got super lucky on a 5x encounter and ended up with 15k bricks at the end. It’s not worth the hassle going all out on those since 95% of them are shielded, but may be worth a shot if you regularly fight these revenge matches.

@aweDelan it's true. And there's more strategy to the game than meets the eye initially. Big Bertha, Bat, and Rainbow Rage (probably using 10x gates and Great Normie) seem to be the best combo for points once you have them into the 70's. I don't have my Bertha or Bat very high yet (everything I have is in the level 60's), and usually I use either lucky shot or sniper along with Nexus depending on the circumstances. Using fast charge, slower mobs (using Caveman right now for challenges), you can get a good 5 to 12 Nexus's or so on the board, and right before you destroy their base, either hit them with a rocket barrage or rainbow rage (which I call "turbo" lol), and so far it's gotten me over 57k before the multiplier. You also get an award if you get over 8,000 bricks in one victory. I'm always looking for ways to increase the score, such as avoiding certain multiplication gates so that I don't destroy the base too quickly and can unleash more champions.
