I grew up with I-Dean. I first met him in Montessori School. His dad was a major figure from North Philly, Richard Allen Projects. He wanted the best for his children so he moved them to the Ivy Hill section of Philadelphia, which we call Mt. Airy. I-Dean was spoiled and very emotional as a child. We were virals in Pop Warner football growing up. He played for the Mt. Airy Bantams and I played for the North Philly Blackhawks, who had a much smaller junction called the Playfield Hawks. I was incarcerated when I-Dean would become this larger than life Street Hustler. I heard of his come up in Prison, only those calling him Hammer would confuse me to who they were speaking of. The sad thing is that I could have been sitting beside him that night of his execution, not to be involved in anything but because he was really my friend before any street shit. I've been home from prison now two years and this the last time I will see my friend. May Allah have mercy on his soul, and bless his family as well as the families who've lost family members behind I-dean's alleged actions. R.I.P. to all the lives that were lost. Philly 4 Life!
