I hope i can explain situation better or in simpler way then the fellas at the oil change centre. So basically Oil viscosity pertains to a liquid’s internal friction or ability to flow at specific temperatures. Understanding this is crucial as not all motor oils have the same resistance to flow. Colder weather conditions require (winter-grade) thinner oils to reduce friction and make cold-starting easier. Conversely, warmer temperatures call for (summer-grade) thicker oils, which have better film strength and sealing properties due to their higher viscosity. SAE 10W-30 motor oil is one of the low-temperature multi-grade oils commonly recommended by manufacturers, along with 15W-40, 5W-30, and 0W-20. This engine oil acts as an SAE 10 in sub-zero weather, yet functions as an SAE 30 in standard operating temperature. This oil type will not have problems in freezing climates up to -30°C/-22°F. Cold-starting should be hassle-free. Similarly, SAE 10W-40 motor oil performs well in cold weather conditions. It has the same low-temperature limits as the 10W-30 but is better in higher temperatures. This oil type remains thicker at 100°C/212°F compared to an SAE 30 high-temp flow grade and is more suitable for warm weather. Because this oil is more glutinous, it is better at resisting thermal breakdown and reducing deposit formation. Both 10W-30 and 10W-40 are low-viscosity oil grades that contain polymers, which speed up or slow down the engine oil’s thickening or thinning rate, depending on oil temperature fluctuations. They are both available in pure conventional form or as high-quality synthetic grades. Either 10W30 or 10W40 for summer use is fine; however, 10W-40 motor oil will better protect your engine. Although environmental temperature does not add to the heat your engine generates during operation, it impacts oil viscosity. This is the reason your location is so important in selecting which oil to use. Between a 10W-30 and 10W-40, 10W30 motor oil would run smoother in colder climates while a 10W40 would be more effective in preventing engine wear and tear in warmer temperatures. Plus 10W40 will keep a good seal for your engine considering it’s age and millage. And about that oil level at the end of filling up the new oil If the top of the oil streak is between the min and max marks, the level is fine. If the level is below halfway between the marks, then it’s recommend adding some oil. Once he started the car up the oil went straight through the oil filter and the level was not bad at all so he didn’t need to add more oil to it. I hope everything written above makes sense. 😆 keep it up bro.👍🏽 Also to add to my comment above 20W40 is suitable for hotter climates and will not cause sludge as opposed to 20w50 which is more appropriate for hotter conditions.

Habib brother Always Use injector cleaner when you change the oil on old engine oil put the Injector cleaner and start the car for like 5-10mins it'll clean the whole engine parts and you'll see the milage and engine performance and I hope you'll love it 💖

There's another factor behind leakage. Sometimes mechanics do not place both seals properly. Please recheck everytime when you go for oil change. A big fan of yours. Cheers!

Brother another reason of leakage on these element filters is that the mechanic do not lubricate the black o-ring which gets mounted on filter housing cap ... Toyota recommend to lubricate the O-ring properly otherwise it will leak. Second you can check the weight of the oil suitable for your car on the engine oil cap, heavy weight oils can damage your engine particularly engines with VVTI.

If the car cosumes engine oil till your next oil change then use liqui moly engine flush.It'll clean up the carboned up rings which will reduce the engine oil consumption.Then use 5w-30 fully synthetic any brand with oem filters.Coz fully synthetic engine oil will further cleanse your engine parts and keep your engine running according to oem specs.5w-30 is recommended for your specific car regardless of the millage.Using 5w-30 will be my choice.

5W-40 and 10W-40 oil are almost same. 5W-40 is not thin from 10W-40. The only difference is of cold start 5W-40 will be better in cold start which will prolong the life of engine. And oil consumption is also normal, according to Toyota if Toyota cars consume 1L in 2000 kms it is also considered normal but if its consuming recommended oil grade not 5W-40, 10W-40 or 20W-50.

Don’t just pit random oils in your engines, and make decisions based on your instincts always read the service / Owner manual of your car to decide which oil to go with , mechanics in pakistan think that 20W50 is the bread and butter for all sorts of engines , our aqua uses 0W20 or 5w30 oil and when i told the mechanic to put this in , he was staring at me like if i was a fool , and about our Suzuki Margalla, Suzuki actually recommends 20w50 for it , so this also clears up that 20W50 ain’t just for older/weak engines.😀 Also read your manuals to put the exact amount of oils in your engine, as pouring more oil n your engine can cause , tappet covers to leak and make the general seals leak too.

toyota only recommends 0w20 for aqua because the annual temperature in japan is pretty low as compared to pakistan, so the mechanic is actually right in that case because lower viscosity oils are better for low temperatures and vice versa
