Now thats what I am talking about! If I had a Contractor, pulled up to my house with a "Mobil Shop" like your, I would instantly give them the job! The Professionalism that is incorporated in this design is incredible, I plan on watching it again!

Wow. I mean, really, WOW! I have seen a lot of projects for benches (static or mobile) and you have superior engineering abilities. My solution will be at least 80% or 90% your solution with some some modifications. It's extremely rare that I subscribe to a channel after watching a single video, but my gosh - it's impossible for me not to :D Thank you very much for this video!

That is a really nice setup. But you're missing the bit when it starts raining and you're having to work in someone's front garden because the house is too small and you can't afford a workshop or festool because the local rates won't cover it?

Looks good! But as a maker of cabinets and architectural millwork, I can't see a use for this in the field 😅 I've made it a priority to do the fine tuning of my work in the shop where things are more dialed in. I'm usually just scribing and miter cutting moldings when on site. But maybe I'm just a hack...🙃

Will you please explain how you made the mft fence? Looks like it would accommodate much longer cross cuts.
@mgildersleeve5 жыл бұрын
Yes. It increases the cut capacity of the MFT by a few inches. I have the original festool fence in storage. Sorry, I can't explain how each individual section works. After a while, it would all be explained away and nobody would buy the plans.

What size are the T bolts that are used on the Festool MFT system? And, what size of router bit did you use to cut the slots? TIA
@mgildersleeve5 жыл бұрын
The T bolts are 1/4" and I used a 3/4" router bit, since it was shallow enough. I'm actually working on blue prints right now for all of this stuff. It should be ready by the end of the weekend. I'll post a link when they're ready.

Tour de force! I've been setting up on job sites for 45 years. Much respect to you. One question: How do you deal with the occasional need to portage much of your gear up stairs? I presume that the fact that you break up the load into small footprint cases answers my question for the most part. But do you have other trick solutions for that circumstance too? Thanks for posting.
@mgildersleeve5 жыл бұрын
Michael Schuler Thank you. I haven’t had to go up any stairs with it yet. But, it’s all light enough to do it. With the hardware drawers fully stocked I’d probably take the trays up individually, though. That’s enough metal to do so.
@michael.schuler5 жыл бұрын
@@mgildersleeve Some years ago, I started travelling with a folding hand truck with stair-climbers on the back of the uprights. The truck comes in handy for other misc. loads, but it would make it easy to make it up stairs with your compact cases, even if fully loaded with hardware.

What a waste of money and time. Lolololol, they sell this same thing at the home depot that folds out and doesn't cost $7,000 and take an hour to set up. Hahaha. And haven't you ever watched somebody take apart a featool? All that money for a tool, and you find out it 75% plastic. They're not even advertised as carpenters tools, actually they say you shouldn't use them for carpentry.
@cackleberryfarm45985 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris. Do you have a link to the home depot product your talking about. I love this idea but don't have the time to build something so complicated. Thanks.
@wickedwoodgaming14865 жыл бұрын
@@cackleberryfarm4598 go to home depot.com and search Mobil work center. Greg makes one and a few other companies. Check amazon too, there are many types of work stations that don't cost thousands of dollars or hours of assembly time. I'll even make a custom one for you for a fraction of the price.
@cackleberryfarm45985 жыл бұрын
@@wickedwoodgaming1486 HI Chris. I looked on both Amazon and Home Depot and i couldn't find ANYTHING that comes even close to this setup. And I'm trying to figure out how you know this costs $7k to build. I didn't see him talk about price and I went to the plans link and the plans are $15. Maybe you find a link for me to explore? Thanks!
@wickedwoodgaming14865 жыл бұрын
@@cackleberryfarm4598 7k was a rough cost, it's an add for festool, that's all that video was. And yes these type of work centers exist, either you didn't look, or you are bad at doing research. But more than likely your just trying to make it seem like I don't know what I'm talking about. This video was made to sell festool items, and festool tools are wayyyyy over priced. So the reality is that to have this setup, it would probly cost closer to $10,000.
