As most of my subscribers know I have a passion for cranes of any type.
This crane is one of my all time favourite mobile designs made by a Dutch company . I was working on the building next to it when I thought I would get some footage.
I missed some of the retract of the main tower at ground level.
The six-axle Spierings SK1265-AT6 eLift is the largest mobile tower crane in the world and can operate 100% emission free. The powerful engine, high-performance pneumatic brake system and excellent overview increase safety on construction sites and public roads. The SK1265-AT6 eLift is the first Spierings crane with a fifth extendible jib section, which, combined with the four other jib sections, delivers an unrivalled radius of 60 meters.
Maximum load
10,000 kg (up to 13.2 m)
Tip load
1700 kg
Maximum radius
60 m
Lifting height
35 m
Tower height
37.2 m
Maximum lifting height
64.2 m (30° luffed jib)

Incredible design on this crane, lot quicker and easier to set up and pack up than an actual tower crane. Handy for quick jobs.

Great video Jim. My Dad used to drive mobile cranes, that’s quite a bit of skill and choreography dis-assembling them for the road.

Superb...there is a lot of responsibility operating these cranes, There was a crew of five men to set this up including the out rigger team and then there was a follow up truck that took all the heavy hardwood away.. The way the driver operator got into the cab once the tower is up is amazing to watch...this driver even took up a greggs coffee and a sandwich as there's a tiny lift that takes him up to the cab... Utterly ingenious piece of engineering.

Was the background music one of your own masterpieces? Fascinating watch - what was the. Real-time length of process?

I did put up my own music but I thought it would not suit so I changed it for M83 sound track from the Film Oblivion. The total process took about 45mins to stack all the out rigging hardware with the small jib at the base of the main crain tower for a flat bed truck to pickup the next morning.
