I also bought one, well aside I think price is unjustified it's makibg I up with really expensive headphones as a gift, even tho I still preferred price to be lowered, and obviously Sony is main character when comes to manufacturing lenses and sensors, so I think they could have given us something new rather then reused setup from last 2 years, however that being said it's on par with any other flagship on market in terms of it's capabilities, having stock system lessens customize ability, but that is neither con or pros, so I can't say it's scam but could have being of the phones that pushes cutting edge technology ​@@Mundafatehpuria

Most Android phones have Pro/Expert/Manual Mode built in their default camera app. And i personally used it a lot. Still, the Xperia phones have the best one. iPhones don't have Pro/Expert Mode in their default camera app. Btw, Olle that is such a good demonstration of Leveling up Smartphone Photography.

This is a very informative video, thank you. In your Xperia 5 V video last year, you mentioned that the 48 mm mode will come to the 1 V device with the update. Sony official site also announced that this feature will come with android 14. Unfortunately, this feature has not come despite the 1 year that has passed. As Xperia 1 V users, we sent mass e-mails to Sony and started a signature campaign. As someone who has personal contact with Sony, we would be very pleased if you convey this request to them.

It's such a sad time to be an Xperia user from the terrible "upgrade" with the 1 vi and the lack of updates and the poor telephoto resolution giving fluffy images . Ugh why can't they just listen to their core audience instead of trying to please the people who won't even buy it

@@danielmclaren170890 You are so right. I don't know why Sony is doing this. I am a 10-year Xperia user, I use my 1 V device very fondly. Sony said that 48 mm mode would come with the update, but did not keep its promise. Hundreds of users on Reddit are complaining about this issue. I understand their desire to make a best-selling device, but they should not ignore the wishes of niche users while doing so. Many of us have been using Sony for many years. We don't deserve this kind of treatment.

Most of the users of the Xperia 1 V are niche consumers. Sony should not treat people who have been using their products for many years in this way.

with the tele macro mode keeping distance can be very usefull with animals. otherwise they will notice you and fly/run away.

Thank you so much! I believe either the Shutter speed or ISO has to be in AUTO for the EV to be set. If nothing's in AUTO, You are shooting fully manually, so no need for you to "give the camera a hint" of what exposure you're after, since you have full control. Hope that makes sense :D

I bought this phone and I'm bit excited for when it will arrive. But actually I would be uber thrilled if anyone would get me a Lumi 1020 with camera grip just with up to date hardware. The haptics, the security of the grip, the creative software (like Refocus), the brilliant pro camera UI (and actually also the navigation back then). It was and still is such a great camera phone unfortunately Windows Phone was a comercial desaster. Also with the camera grip and main camera I did the best selphies. You just needed a little experience and you could nail that framing without seeing anything 4 out of 5 times. Also the quality of photos back than was more than good enough to get 90 cm x 60 cm alu dibond print of a daytime festival. Also at festivals it was so secure to use with the grip, and if it dropped it might have a few scratches but be completely intact otherwise due to the poly carbonat that absorbed the shocks. Just had to look at some old photos boy the quality of photos with flash was insane. I should bring it to the nex party I go 😅

Please help us here.....recent updates on my 1 v has updated the algorithm on auto shooting...however I was trying the macro lense photography after the update I found some improvements on 3.5 close in photography in macro mode. So i like every Xperia videos that you made. I have a simple question. Compare to the pro mode from xperia to samsung to even some Chinese phones, they are all exposing similar controls if not all the same, even the tracking mechanism. What sets Xperia apart from them? I only know the two stage shutter button is unique.

Glad to hear that! I personally really like the files from Xperia becuase they look pretty similar to what my regular camera produce In terms of sharpness and colors. But that's personal preference :)

Hej Olle, enjoying your channel. Would you ever consider a long workshop day/weekend? Decade+ ago (pre Brexit) when I lived in Edinburgh I took all day workshop with a professional photographer who took a small group of us on walking learning, photography class. It was amazing, intense day, but tech has moved on, we amateurs all use our mobiles now. Don’t know if you’d consider offering Swedish walk, learn and Photo weekend. Hi Oile, i have gotten myself a sony 200mm - 600mm lense paired with A6400. But for the most part, i can't get sharp images. They always seem "soft" or, like they would need micro-adjusting the focus. Same with a tripod or without. How did the 200-600mm on aps-c seem to you ? Did you find the pictures more soft ?

I was very disappointed to find out that my 1400Euro phone lacks the time lapse option in the camera app. I have started using timelapse videos quite often during the last couple years. Do you have a suggestion on how to replace it? I was looking for an app that integrates it straight into the original camera app (saw some post on Reddit on this). Or maybe just a simple app that does the job, without me needing to recompile thousands of photos into a video. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated, since apparently posts to fix Xperia 1 VI issues are scarce. Thank you in advance!
