My truck is a 2019 ram 2500 and the cap is a leer DCC-MT3 I got it used and had it bedlined.

I stock a lot of the smaller common replacement parts and either order online or find local.

You have a nice setup, do you find that a lot of RVers need welding done on their rigs? Im a welder by trade and was kicking around the idea of becoming an RV tech and doing the mobile welding as well.

Hey Stewert, just a quick heads-up, the links for the test box are for the "heavy" box. That one is for semi-trailer 7 pin (round) not the 7 pin (spade) style. The "travel trailer" style tester is the Model # 9101.

Very cool setup. My family and I are hitting the road full time and I’m thinking of going to RV tech school so I can make some money while on the road. One question, do you tow your RV with that truck too or does someone drive your RV separately?

Great video. I was checking in a school to be some an RV tech and then a Mobil business in Ohio. Do you think there is plenty of work for another Mobil truck?? In the Akron area.

Absolutely! Now I will say the work season without a shop is roughly March-September/October. But I’ve always been very busy when we’re in Ohio.

It is a LEER MT3 cap that I had a Bullet liner applied to the outside and the rack is bolting onto the cap.

How are the vertically oriented pack-out boxes held in place, as they appear to be hanging. Also, how much weight does all of this add to the truck?

There’s a pack out panel that is bolted to the cabinet that they clip into. Weight wise the cap and all the tools is around 650lbs the fuel tank full is 600lbs. My trucks payload is 3100.

I have 9 years of maintenance experience in the army and I have multiple companies sending me offers to be an rv tech. If I can learn the trick of the trade how long should I work for a company before I venture out on my own.

That’s 100% up to you! I never worked for a rv dealer prior to starting my business. I did have a lot of schooling and experience in mechanical and electrical with prior jobs.

My inspection cert is with NRVIA and my tech Certifications are from all over the place.

Trying to start doing mobile tech work and wasn’t sure how important it was to go to an actual school. Thanks I need to do a updated video as I have changed a lot! Business is great! We travel fulltime so that can be a logistical nightmare sometimes. If you plan on being in one area call around to the local rv shops and see how far back they are.
