A big difference in these bands is songwriting ability. Even though these are just covers, you can tell which band has the songwriting chops. VOB gets an honorable mention from me...they are awesome.

I've personally listened to all 53 covers from the Blacklist album and for the most part it was not a fun experience. Metallica had given the artists invited carte blanche and specifically asked for them to not do a straight cover, and most of the artists, almost all of them well established, did not dare go there and still did pretty much straight covers, with a different guitar tone and vocals, but 3 girls from Mexico at 21, 19 & 16 years old went for brass and came up with this, which to me is the best cover of the whole album.

I concur. There are 2 or 3 other covers of other songs that are ok on the album, but none anywhere near what Alessia and TW did 🤘🏻. As a non-Metallica fan, I love this version!

Not taking anything away from all the other bands because they all did a pretty good job. However, The Warning is the only band that did something completely different to Enter Sandman. There is a reason that their reimaging of the song is the first track on the Black List Album. Metallica loves The Warning's rendition! The Warning doesn't have any issue with Liliac. Liliac seems to have an issue with The Warning

Lilliac has had a new drummer for about a year. the old one said she was taking a leave to get married and has not returned yet. Lzzy Hale, Matt Bellamy, Dave Draiman among others have said the Warning is the future of Rock n Roll

Funny how you said some people WANT you speechless😂. You got it right about Dany. Though all three are jewels in the set, Dany is the rockstar in the forefront. Another example is if you see her two performances at the VMAs, her posture AFTER the songs end is her rockstar persona. Different from the Dany we see behind the scenes. The giddy, the jokester, the embodiment of the most carefree joyful person without an emotional burden compared to the focused, driven, aggressive, in-your-face but simultaneously party-likeable person that draws you in like a magnet with her steel of an audience and stealing our souls she certainly does. One difference with her is though is in-between songs she’s still the same off-stage Dany just more direct cuz of necessity of time without sacrifice of sincerity. ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Honestly, I think Liliac tied The Warning by adding a metal edge that I very much enjoy BUT, I must say this about TW - it's not about the size of the band, but the harmony they create. Like a small ensemble that plays with heart, they can win over any audience. ⚡️🔥🤟

The melodic rock version of The Warning and Alessia Cara wins hands down!!! I was fortunate to be a teenager in the years 1976-1982 and to be exposed to the voices of Pat Benetar and Ann Wilson (Heart) by regularly listening to the radio... both having powerful female voices but very melodic and pleasant, singing over several octaves. For me, The Warning's rock compositions always have very beautiful, very interesting and memorable melodic lines. Their vocal harmonies, Danny's magnificent voice with all its nuances that I really appreciate make this trio of extra-talented young sisters easily stand out from other groups of the same genre. 🥰🎶⚡️

All the controversy came because Melody (Liliac lead singer), said that The Warning were good enough to open for them😂. The girls of The Warning themselves never said a word about, but The Warning Army never forgave Liliac for that. The blowback was so big for Liliac that Melody and the whole band made a public apology about. No band needs The Warning Army as foe😂. Even today many of The Warning fans avoid listen to Liliac because that. The girls of the Warning remained silent about the whole time. That's the whole story about this controversy.

Liliac , VOB and The Warning have been getting popularity by covering Enter Sandman. VOB is much more inspired by RATM, SOAD and Flea RHCP so there is hip and funky element in their music color. The Warning and VOB are in a different league than the other bands. VOB is playing Glastonbury and The Warning is playing Wakken this summer. Plus The Warning sold out a 10,000 seat theatre in 24 hours. None of these other bands are anywhere close in terms of talent or stature.

They are all good versions, there is talent in all the members of each band, but from my point of view only one band took the risk of deconstructing and remaking a song that is a rock icon to create their own version without losing the essence of the original. . The other bands did not take risks when making their versions.

If you mean the Warning, you're all the way wrong when you say "without losing the essence of the original". You're right that it's a good remake of the song, but the essence is forever lost, no agressivity, no madness to it, no rage, it's way too soft to compare it to the original's essence.

Dany is one of the greatest front woman/man that I've ever seen. When she's having fun, she lets you know to such a degree that you can't help but enjoy the ride. Over the last maybe 10 years, I wondered how a rock band would light the world on fire again as mostly everything Rock related was either really old, or it just lacked the depth and the attitude. I know you don't like GnR, but it's hard to say their energy, specially in a time of endless hair bands and boring music, wasn't what made them as big as they became. They felt dangerous and the response to how different they were from most bands was huge. So I wondered lately who would carry that torch moving forward as I just don't see that kind of energy anymore. Well, 3 sisters from Mexico answered my question, and they were nothing like what I thought the next big thing in rock would be like and what would be needed to bring them to the forefront. They share very little with Rockers of yesterday; they are sweet, they are humble, they are hard working and don't need additives to do their thing. They are everything I wanted in rock, but so much more that I didn't realize I would love. May they rock this planet until they are so old, they can no longer hold themselves up. Maybe I won't always love their music as their tastes grow and change, but I will always appreciate them for making me feel like I was 15 again listening to music I love. Thanks for the reaction!

Enjoyed this reaction - agree about The Warning version - it's almost it's own song, although I do prefer their performance of it live without Alisia Cara at Teatro Metropolitan. I've followed Haloscene for a couple of years now, and they mostly did covers, but have toured with their own material since. I like their version featuring the additional female singers, Violet and Lauren (Lauren Babic is lead singer for another band I watch sometimes called Red Handed Denial). 🤘
