Developing countries need these solutions!

I agree. Especially those countries need to think about how they want to secure a green energy solution for the future.

If all developing countries transitioned to fossil fuels we would be in trouble! It's important we start to bring down the prices of H2 solutions so they're feasible for all walks of life!

Oil and gas have had 100 years to make their system cheap and affordable! Hydorgen is just starting out, but the more we invest into it the cheaper it will get! We have to focus on making the future green and stop spending money on cheap system that are destroying our planet!
@megavolt244
@megavolt244 3 жыл бұрын
@@basicthinkingtv we don't have enough time to wait for it getting cheap, we need to become co2 neutral NOW. I think you have spent not enough time on the efficiency and other problems. Dr. Quaschning can only speak a few critical sentences at the beginning, from then on it's only "Yay, hydrogen!"

We have other videos specifically addressing topics like battery vs electric and efficiency. We didn't think this was the place to tackle arguments, otherwise we have no time to paint the picture for how it can actually work in all the verticals. Check out our other content, we deep dive into tackling criticism... Hydrogen has enough negativity in my opinion, it needs some advocates for how it could be a viable green energy in the future.

I have seen an old Holden Kingswood car run on strait tap water with no fuel cell at all back in 1975, how technology changes.

@@DonDahlmann He did show it to my pop he lived across the road, he said he could not say to much as he was heading of to Holden to see if he could sell it, even tried Ford but was told he could use it but if he ever told anyone else he would be in trouble, an other man was with us at the time from up the road, well two years later he worked it out and the old man that showed it to us was found dead on the side of the train tracks , was said he fell of the train drunk. but what he told us was, all he did was open up the jets to allow twice the amount of fuel, this case water and this coil on the side of his motor about 4in x 4in that looked like feed into the regular coil that was all he said, but he got the hose from the house and filed his tank and showed it was flowing into the carburetor. I meant what I said it ran on strait tap water, its all about the frequency of the spark.

What about China? Are they using H2?
@basicthinkingtv
@basicthinkingtv 3 жыл бұрын
China is starting to move forward with Hydrogen, they're planning on creating a Hydrogen corridor, it will go from Beijing to Hong Kong and include H2 trains! It's not clear how their going to handle producing green hydrogen, but this isn't a unique problem to China, all countries are struggling with this problem. They are working on moving from Grey to Green, so I'm hopeful!!

If you're driving over 250km a day, the math on Hydrogen vehicles starts to make more sense on Hydrogen. It's true that h2 cars for most personal driving styles wont take advantage of H2's energy efficiency benefits, but fleets that do a lot of driving and industry should all look at making the move!

eFuels are made out of Hydrogen. So you use a lot of energy to create H2 and even more to create eFuels. It is not really working for cars. But I can imagine eFuels being used for planes.
@basicthinkingtv

It's important that lots of green energies emerge to replace fossil fuels! It's true that Hydrogen is the prefect fit more many, but today we have different fuels for different reasons. Hydrogen and eFuels will work together to transition us away from fossil fuels!

Haha, there is some truth in this. Different industries have been exploring the possibilities of H2 since the late 70s. We had the same with solar. It was not promising in the 70s and 80s, but now, we have the technology. Same goes for H2. The technology was not there, but it is now.

A University in Australia has improved it's efficiency in purifying sea water to a scale now that makes it viable to make "Green Hydrogen" cost effective. The Government is actually heavily involved in transitioning away from fossil fuels to a green future. The amount of energy hitting a 6,794,000 sq km landmass can make Australia a key player in making hydrogen not only for domestic use, but also internationally.

@DonDahlmann

Hydrogen has a potential to ignite. Like most of the energy rich gases we know. But it has been used for over 50 years by the NASA, in the chemical industry etc. without major incident. The Hydrogen tanks have a world wide safety standard. They can survive even heavy accidents.
