I currently have the Smooth Q2 and the main problem is the wide-angle lens usage. the gimbal shows up in shots even though the special wide-angle tilt mode is activated. Planning to upgrade. What you suggest, OM4 or Q3?

Nicely explained, unfortunately you forgot something, and this something is something that I find very important, because for example I ordered the ZHIYUN SMOOTH Q3 and it is on its way to me. The question I have, and to which you have not provided the answer, is the following: Have I seen correctly that, when you unscrew the tripod of the ZHIYUN SMOOTH Q3, there is a USB input at the bottom of the handle next to the screw thread? is with which you can charge the ZHIYUN SMOOTH Q3? I do know that there is also a USB port higher up in the handle that you can connect to the smartphone on the gimbel with a USB cable, and my actual question is now: Can you connect the ZHIYUN SMOOTH Q3 with these two connections together? the Smartphone, and thereby charge the smartphone, and at the same time also charge the ZHIYUN SMOOTH Q3? This I would like to know.

That's the charging port to connect the usb cable to charge for the gimbal not for charging for the phone. And you use the 5V/2A rated power supply to connect the type-c cable to charge for the Smooth-Q3.

At a glance it looks a lot like the DJI Osmo 4 without the magnetic clamp. I have the DJI Osmo 3 & use it with my Galaxy s20, but as it's android there are so few features with fps & no manual, which is so disappointing. This does seem to have them. My Osmo 3 can only carry 230gms so extra lens are out. This Q3 is only on pre-order at the time of this post, so I am interested, but will wait to see what sort of feedback it gets. One final point is that there are now mid sized gimbals that can accept a small dslr & point & shoot camera as well as a smartphone & they aren't that much more expensive. So I am still on the fence whether to pay a little bit more & say get the FeiyuTech G6 Max so that I can use my point & shoot with lots of optical zoom on it too. Once again your video is so informative & so thought provoking. Love 'em.

I don't suggest to buy FY G6 Max, as it's not a good one, compare to Zhiyun M2.

I like the smooth Q2 design because it doesn't block the bottom poets of my phone. I can attach a mic or charge my phone.

yah i have the osmo 3 gimbal, used it in public once and hard to use it again. so i bought the osmo action to use in public, although small people still notice it, so i bought the osmo pocket, and i use that in public. osmo pocket is the best to use in public. people dont notice and youre alot more free to focus on the content. checkout the osmo pocket. now i only use the gimbal if i really want to use my phone like livestream. and use the osmo action as an action camera strapped on bike or chest mount. i use the osmo pocket mainly for vlogging outdoor.

I am quite happy with the Smooth Q2 and my iPhone 12 pro max and diy case filter combo. It weighs up to 300 g (depending on the ND filter's weight). But it is at the limit of the motors and sometimes they brake down. I will give the Smooth Q3 a go! Thanks for the video! I wonder why someone put a thumb down. I never used any of these apps, just Filmic Pro. I also find it difficult to work with the joystick because movements then are anything other than smooth.

Why is it made of plastic? Non replaceable battery? They need to visit the drawing board again. All the could have done was take the existing smooth Q2 and give it better arms for wide lenses.

I observed couple of things and will be grateful if anyone advise its normal. Upon moving through all the modes when I reach last one which is pov and spin shot mode I see slight tilting movement of phone when moving to pov mode and spinshot mode. Also in spinshot mode when i place the phone in gimbal at extreme end of rotations I see back and forth small movements in the gimbal, very slight but noticeable, I thought it could be bcos its a mechanical stop end and gimbal is trying to compensate for movements etc but I sill want to be sure if it is a normal thing. I use iphone 12 pro max with zihyun app and not been able to take a panaromic shot which is done of whole grid rest all pano shots work fine, I get message that it is failed to generate pano shot after it tried to process it. Can any one advise me if this is common with all q3

Zy Remo app offers only for phones, not iPad. It's a bit ridiculous 🤷‍♂️ You can download it on iPad but with iPhone interface 😑 Great review by the way 👍💫

Oh my the long wait is over the color is gray i can imagine it was dji osmo because of its color , the zoom control and the light above the gumbal makes unique on this gumbal and smart follow and the kg of q3 is much lesser than q2 and the story mode just like djimimo app

So my wife has an Iphone 11 Pro Max, I'm getting a Samsung S21 5G Ultra. Now with case an possible lense, what is a good gimbal option? I understand if you go over, you may destory the motor eventually. I also saw this Mobiel 4 with the magnet, but that magnet is what's keeping me back a bit, since it sounds like that's sensitive to accidents with your phone. Have to say I am quite drawn to this one.

Looks like it's not portable friendly anymore, they could have just improve the Smooth 2's design flaw where the motor got into certain shots and it would have been perfect.

Hi sir. So there is no 4K option in Android phone (with 4K capability) when using the app? I always use 4K and it will defeat the purpose of this gimbal if we can't shoot in 4K with it's app features(specially Dollyzoom). I'm waiting for one of these big name smartphone gimbal makers to make something that will support a much heavier payload. Note 10+, Moment case, Anamorphic lens and 72mm ND filter are way too much for these gimbals. I'm shooting my film next week and will be relying heavily on my new tripod rather than my gimbal 😃

Is there another app that can be used since the zy cami app doesn’t work? I received mine from Amazon today and it won’t connect. The app seems to not work for anyone which makes using the gimbal a big problem. I bought specifically to use with moment lenses as they recommended it but wondering if anyone is reviewing with a working app? I can only find videos where people say the app isn’t working properly.

@@SiHorrocks I have the DJI om4 then moment said even with counter weights don’t use with iPhone 12 Pro but this smooth q3 will work great so I get it today and have spent hours trying to get it to connect. The reviews on the app are so bad and all KZbin reviews say “the app didn’t work properly for me but...”.

I found the Mimo app works well on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I can only speak from my own experience. I have had connection issues. Sometimes after the first connection, if I disconnect it won't reconnect. But I found I need to close the Mimo (completely shut it down), switch the gimbal off, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on iphone. Switch gimbal back on and open Mimo, then usually it connects again
