The review is really detailed and useful. I agree with other earlier comments that this is the best samsung note 20 ultra review I have seen so far :) Personally, I think that this should be the way to review a phone especially its camera features i.e what are the features? where are they available? Their limitation etc... rather than just reading what written in the spec that the phone has 3 super high quality lens, then conclude its performance against the others, while most of the time, the lens are only accessible on the auto mode :).

Man thank you, this was so useful. I had questions, I didn't even know I have, about HDR and Dolby Vision as well as Filmic Pro thank you for answering the questions I didn't know I have had lol. This is a bit of a bummer. I would imagine they should let us have at least two basic controls in HDR, one over shutter and one over which lens we wanna use. Pretty useless selling us a phone with so many cameras, of which only one gives us HDR. I hope they fix this with S21 Ultra. Right now this is why mobile film making promotion is so close to push out DSLR yet so far from coming even close. Even though HDR+ and Dolby vision in such a small factor are mind blowing.

Wanted to learn how to take better photos and vids, and I've been mucking about with it using your tips as inspo over the past week. Best camera features: Using the sPen as remote shutter button The green focus outlining Bluetooth and USB audio input options All those frame rates, dimensions and resolutions! Bloody massive screen Improvement needed: No wide angle/telephoto lens in Pro mode No front facing camera in Pro mode No microphone options for the above No headphone jack (need a dual adapter to charge the phone and use a external mic at the same time) Not being able to tell if the camera is rolling if you're in front of the camera and used the sPen as the shutter button. Also, there are NO filter adapters on the market that cover all 3 lens simultaneously. If you know of one, do let me know!

@@SiHorrocks The one sold by Motion is actually the Ulanzi U-filter which I bought (thankfully for only a fiver). Doesn't fit over the camera bump at all, and even with a phone case it lets light in through the side. Glad I didn't buy any filters first!

That's a cool video with the children and it looks like they enjoyed the experience. So that was Zurich, is it hard to film there? I've seen that band and video before, I watch a lot of German music videos, and Voice of Germany. My into the band Rammstein since seeing them in the movie XXX. I have been a fan of Nina from the 1980s. When I was a kid I listen to German polka music. My great-grandparents on my father's side came from Stuttgart, however they had homes in Berlin, and also Bavaria. Then they moved to America in late 1920s, lived in New York City. They lost there business and money due to hatred during the 1930s. Then they moved to upper state New York, in a small German town. They all moved to California in the late 1950s to work in Hollywood. My father didn't like the entertainment industry, so he described to work for the Los Angeles County as a truck driver. When I would go over to my grandparents house they would have all these interesting people that worked at Disney as cartoonist or even voice overs. Others where small time actors of the time. On my mother's side my great-grand uncle was a limo driver for Hollywood celebrities and Studio owners from the 1920s to late 1930s. He was good friends with Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and Jack Warner from Warner Brothers. When I was a kid it was a lot of fun hearing all the stories of the days of Hollywood. That's why the call it the golden days of Hollywood, today it's a shit hole... In a few years I'm planning to go to Europe to enjoy my retirement. I want to go to Germany, Switzerland, and visit a few friends in England, Scotland and Ireland. My the way, what is your name? I even lost all my stuff in 2014, after getting sick. I was looking for work in January 2014 and then I got sick. It almost killed me, I was in a coma for 43 days, in the hospital for six months, and I was paralyzed from the neck down after coming out of my coma. I proof all of doctors wrong that said I would never walk again. Today I have neuropathy in both my feet and legs, but I'm still putting one foot in front of the other. I learned you can survive after total Destruction of my former life. I lost everything, my business, my home, and all my money. That's Life! You can give up or you can fight to make your life better then you ever dreamed. I was sitting in my old production van, I was living out of it. I had my life, my wheelchair in the back of my van, and a few $. I cried like a little girl, and then I decided to start the engine and point it to Las Vegas to be with my family. It was in 2015 the goal was to start a business in 2020 then the virus hit. In 2021 I'm starting a business in Utah to promote filming in Utah. Then I'm going to start making short films again. I have to move forward to bet the clock, I got a second chance at life to make films to inspire people to live a better life.

Hello Simon, your channel is great and definitely needs more subscribers. It's really quality content you offer. I am also owner of a Note 20 ultra and I am torn between using the Galaxy app and Filmic pro. In the most cases I'd use Filmic pro, because of the control. I like the Note 20 ultra but it is impossible to understand that there is no access to the tele or ultra wide lens. Do you think, that it's just the software and it can be fixed? I use the tele 58mm from Moment and 18 mm lens with VND Filter on the main camera.

Thank you! I know the Xperia phones with Cinema Pro app can access all the lenses. So there's no reason why Samsung phones can't. Perhaps Samsung don't see enough value in developing the pro app. They only recently reinstated it

loving my 865+ haven't really tried the camera much and haven't done any video recording but reviews were mainly positive for the 20 ultra. the Qualcomm version did perform better than the exynos version though. its a great device with a real premium feel to it.

you can use HDR10 in pro mode just turn it on and stay at 4k 30 and it will work. it works on my s10

Have you tried the russian app mcpro24fps ? Take a look at it, specially the russian non commercial version (test version) available after you talk a bit with the author on the playstore comments... bbecause it is 30 times better than filmic pro. And maybe... you will have access to the zoom camera in a near future.

There is something weird about the telephoto lens in Samsung. You blocked the camera but but but......Samsung camera app detect it. So it AUTOMATICALLY changes to the main camera because it is designed to search the best aperture. That happened to me with my S10+. I could detect that weird behaviour doing the next test: 1. Block half of the tele, only the tele 2. Record at home 3. Record through an open window or outside. Then I could prove that the app change from tele to main camera because is half blocked image ....Good video. 🤩🤩🤩

On my note 20 if I switch to 8k in pro video it switches to the telephoto lens! Wish I could use it in other resolutions and frame rates but at least it had a video function with 8k.

mcpro24fps allows you to record 10bit video from the entire sensor, with a huge bitrate up to 600Mbps. Forget about filmicpro, they stopped updating it a long time ago, 10bit still does not work in it.
