Long time iPhone user I was waiting out for the iPhone 7 but switched to the HTC 10 after that disappointing mess of a phone was officially announced. If anyone else is thinking of switching out of the IOS ecosystem this is by far the best phone to do it with i freaking love mine. Best phone purchase i've ever made :D

Yes. Its literally the phones greatest feature and surprisingly not many reviewers get detailed into its performance. Definitely get this phone if thats your main priority. Im ditching my S7 Edge for this reason alone. Terrible sound on the S7

+Erlis Velasquez If you want good sound quality, there are 3 options actually lg v10, iPhone se, htc 10. In lg g5 you will have to buy the audio module separately, iPhone 6s has some shielding problems. A faint buzz is noticeable while using very sensitive iems ..

It doesn't have one single standout feature? What about its front facing speaker and a secondary lower frequency speaker on the bottom of the phone? All of the competition that you mentioned only have a single bottom firing speaker. Plus it has the high quality headphone output that you even said was, and I quote, "fantastic". So while it just gets everything right, the standout feature on this phone has to be its Hi-Res Audio functions.

I had the M7, loved it, traded for an M8. Passed on the M9, hoping this would the phone I was looking for. It is and I've already pre-ordered from HTC with the $100 off coupon. I stuck with the silver but may have regrets for not getting the charcoal. Nicely done review

no gimmicks or new useless features, it is a great smartphone all around for the daily use, it does everything perfectly. the new approach from HTC is smart, it does what any smartphone does but better. I think manufacturers should focus more on perfecting the basic things before adding new gimmicky things. great review Lisa.

Great review as always Lisa! Since the M7 (best phone speakers to this day) I have always had a soft spot for HTC. Good to see them running with the big boys again this year after poor performances in the previous years. Great video Lisa! I really haven't seen a bad video about this phone yet. of course on some you tube channels you get your Samsung trolls who are just haters. this phone is just as good or better than Samsung s7 lg g5. Same top end specs, ridiculous audio quality, great build, 2k display, quick charge 3.0, usb type C, sd card slot. what's not to love? waterproof isn't important to me, neither is a gimmicky curved screen.

I like the way HTC / Google eliminated duplicate apps and the way you can store apps on your SD card. Pretty close to stock Android. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Lisa, so far the best review of HTC10, thanks. Looking at spec. still don't know weather it has IP67/68 (water and dust proof) and also in some reviews 32 or 32/64GB internal storage, no "bloatware" - dual apps due to tide with Google. And don't mind me, for questioning, about earbuds-speakers (do they come in package with the device?). Have more to ask but, think this is too much already.

+Jake Mars i like this years phone release with new skin and latest os. I never seen a samsung run smooth(S7 edge) ever cause their skin is more refined. Color change is rare i would focus on screen burn in. I would love to go Android but to much of my friends and family use imessage and facetime plus I have like $600+ in games, movies, music, ect so hard to leave.

don't get me wrong I love Lisa's reviews they are my favorites but to say there wasn't a "standout feature" was a bit harsh considering their audio experience really is a HUGE standout and has always been IMO. i don't understand the " a couple of years" remark. While the m9 was disappointing, the m8 was a remarkable phone and it has only been two years since it was launched. So why "a couple"? Everyone makes it sound like the last good htc phone was the htc desire (a8181)

$700 is just TOO expensive for a smart phone these days! We can now get quite good, very capable smart phones for under $400. Having an 820 chip just doesn't justify it for me.... Great review

I have the unlocked A9 and I updated to Marshmallow 6.0.1 like 10 days after Google released the update. I also get monthly security updates. I'm on AT&T but I don't have to wait on them thank God.

Such a detailed review. Love your work! Cover all bases of the phone. I think HTC really stepped up this time. The M9 was such a downgrade from M8 to M9. The phone's look is appealing to me but that's very opinion based. Aside from that their features such as cleaning up the duplicate apps, the audio quality and sort of having dual front speakers is top notch. I think ALL phones should have front facing speakers. I currently own the Asus Zenfone 2 and as much as I like how fast it runs, I dislike the duplicate bloat ware and the back speaker grill.. My hands always cover up when I try to watch in horizontal.. I'm looking at the option to purchase the HTC10 in Canada.

great review. I don't get why reviewers keep saying there is no stand out feature with this phone. which is actually clearly the sound. what else should it be? the screen is better than any LCD screen, which is more towards amoled. it's only since a couple of years that amoled is good enough to reproduce accurate colors. while Apple only uses LCD and no one cares. well, okay, the htc isn't waterproof. but the Samsung has got really crappy sound. but, people justify that. Because "it's Samsung". it all comes down to marketing and market dominance. And the people, including reviewers, fall for it. people cling more to status than actual performance. only the last Samsung I concider a good phone. not including touchwiz. but HTC made some really bad phones lately. end of my little rant.

This is my EXACT gripe about reviewers too!! My S7 Edge has terrible tiny and quiet sound from the speakers and even headphone quality is the worst and most quiet Ive ever had the displeasure of hearing on any of the Flagships ive owned. Ive owned the LG Spirit , G2, G3. Nexus 5, Samsung Note 4, Note 5, iPhone 6s Plus and my S7 Edge. And the S7 does THE WORST BAR NONE. Its that bad in comparison.. really.

Whats worse is that the reviewers typically ignore this great feature of the HTC 10 when its literally whats it built around. They have a seperate amp for the tweeter, the subwoofer, and even the Headphone jack!! And a high res 24bit DAC! But bad reviewers typically ignore this and say something like "oh yeah the sound is good" but not much else. Ugghh it frustrates me so much lol.

I still have the One M7, but recently it fell out of my bag and the screen has a lovely cracked pattern now. I have to say I don't like that they removed the speakers from the front Now the front is kind of generic looking, if not down right ugly. Still, I'm torn between this and the Sony Z5 because absolutely nothing else piques my interest. Any chance you will get the new Sony Xperia X's to review? They seem to be a step backwards in style though.
