We did the same thing at Christmastime! So happy with the scooter, I am currently shopping for one for myself, as my disability has worsened to the point I can't walk at all unaided. I've used similar scooters at SC Zoo, Broadway at the Beach, in Myrtle Beach and to a couple of air shows! The three wheeler is definitely preferred over the four wheeled ones for the reasons you explained. Have fun! TjR
