Most of your gripes about the VRM and Q flash button are fixed on the Pro AX, but it doesn't have all the cool benching buttons. Great for a daily though! Running 11900K at 5.4GHz on one now. It also doesn't switch the 16x to 8x if you use the PCIe slots.

That was a fun 45 mins on the phone helping him navigate the bios

I tried getting the Tach but couldn't. I did find the z590 Aorus Ultra for $300. After realizing it was basically using the same VRM as a z390 or z490 Xtreme . Thanks to the info i got from this channel. I thought that was a good deal. I seen a 11900K for $615 but, went ahead and got the 10900K for $400. Couldn't help myself and picked up a z390 Aorus Master for $150 and a $250 9900K to go with it. I wasn't done yet. I also got another $250 8 core but this time, it was the 10700K for $250 and z490-E for $230. I wanted to try out the new ASUS BIOS. I've heard good things. I have just enough GPU's and PSU's to build some systems for a couple friends. I figured with 6900XT's like the TOXIC going for $2-3K and Red Devil LQ Ultra going for $2500, i figured i get the deals and build a couple systems to help out some friends. I'm tired of hearing people getting ripped off. Luckily, i have 3 2080ti FTW3's put back, and some 6800XT SE Nitro's. I already sold all my VEGA64's and RADEON VII's. Except my binned ones. For the prices these miners are willing to pay, i'm willing to sell. If you got a few RADEON VII's for $325 and was able to sell'em for $1600-$2K you would do it to. I do love my VEGA's. Even Nitro RX480/580 8GB's are selling for $400-$500 a piece. GPU's will come back in stock but, that doesn't mean you shouldn't get the deals on everything else right now. Gotta have fun why not build a few nice systems for the price of one GPU... Awesome vid.

Yeah, if you wanna test a water cooling loop, you can use a separate power supply that’s setup to run without a motherboard, and you should be able to get power up your pump and fans with whatever SATA or Molex connectors they need. Then you’re not powering up any of your actual components, and if it’s a hard line setup you kinda need everything connected and installed, while a soft line loop can be hooked up and run without any of the blocks mounted to the board.

@MikrySoft
@MikrySoft 3 жыл бұрын
@@cyruschan5507 if you trust the printed specs (on Aliexpress special extensions that's a lottery). Measuring overall wire + insulation thickness doesn't always work either, since some manufacturers add more insulation to fake a thicker cable. (See video on cables GN published recently) Best method is to just cut the cable and measure the copper with calipers. You could try to measure resistance of the cable and calculate thickness from that, but it requires very precise measurements.

historically there have been very small differences in performance for various loads for all generations of cpus along vendors. there are hidden routines for data bus training that run outside UEFI territory, I'd say it's signal level. that said it's a VERY small difference. benching for that is something some do and did and it's always either a waste of time or find a huge difference (MCE comes to mind) that's so large it didn't need special testing.

really hard to do, especially cause motherboards also have a silicon lottery/pcb lottery, and new bios versions can also change stuff. i guess you can find some rough trends, but basically it's always an experience report rather than a benchmark.

they do support upto 2MHz Fsw compared to 1.25MHz on the 90s but you don't get Fsw control in the BIOS and the board doesn't run them that fast on it's own either. Also even if you could set them to 2MHz it would make the VRM insanely hot.

Currently running Aorus Z390 Master. Coupla things really grind my gears regarding this board: the internal USB 3 header plastic and pins broke as I attempted to bend the cable. Granted some force was applied and you could argue it was my fault. However I have never broken one of these before doing the same thing and the plastic does appear rather thin. Also it's mounted facing out from the board instead of the perhaps better side mount. I see that the USB 3.2 appears the same on this board albeit that it's changed position from the middle right to the middle bottom. Another thing was the one HDMI for the iGPU. Another granted, many will not miss the more usual three ports but it struck me as being way to cheap on a high end board to not include even DVI and D-SUB although obviously DP is more useful.
