I've been listening to Moby's music for 25 years or so. Everyone should love Moby, he is kind, gentle, and humble, and of course incredibly talented. His work never gets old, and he progresses with his music to new musical creativeness, which is just one sign of a true musician and artist. He knows how to move people emotionally, and in a meaningful way. If you play piano, it's very rewarding to play along with his music, especially this song (chord structure is F, C, F, C, Em, C, Em, C, and back to F, C, etc.) Get creative with arpeggios of those chords for great effect. Fortunately, he usually composes his pieces with basic chord structures, so it's easy to learn and play along. The lyrics, however, are at another level of complexity and are always absolutely brilliant, poetic, and open to interpretation (as true art should be!)

@@trevorjameson3213I agree! He is amazing! I created a bunch of videos back in 2011 and 2012 and I used his music in most of them. I always credit him and did not monetize. KZbin still removed some of it. The music made those videos. I don't play piano but I just started learning how to play the Kalimba lol. Also just started learning how to play a Steel tongue drum. Only 17 notes on the Kalimba and 18 on the drum. So far I can only play Fur Elise. One thing at a time.

Dear Moby, It's nevermind how popular music is. I noticed that unpopular songs of my favourite musicians are closer to my heart because they are more of mine than theirs who are majority. Only few people are chosen to perceive such pieces. I'm not even going to try to describe how 'Lonely Night' is beatiful. I have no words to describe but only tears on my eyes staring at the night sky stars. Thank you for your music. With Love to you.

I think the dark side of our soul can be the motor of our creativity, the depth of our thinking and the key for our human beeing. Unfortunately we have to learn how to handle this tool and some of us get broken in this process and some of us never find the door for this part of their soul. This song is so beautyful - thank you for this masterpiece!

Love the song by the way! The Beauty within is only as bright as the sadness we wear on our skin. We all carry a weight and sadness that keeps us alive, keeps us searching, keeps us wandering that road into the grey searching for clues. I love the beauty of sadness and the hope of finding a way out.

"I saw Jesus come down, just like a soldier" Those are actually my favorite words of the song. Had no idea how this song came about but we all have those dark moments and days where we look for hope. Sometimes hope seems far away. I was wondering why you traveled so far for an orchestra? I think I understand the reasons behind the words. Great song. Would like to know about "why does my heart feel so bad" the reason behind the writing of these words.
