Lovely spreads. I’m from Latin America so I’d like to recommend some really amazing books from Latin American authors. “The House of the Spirits” - Isabel Allende (Chile) “One Hundred Years of Solitude” - Gabriel García Márquez (Colombia) “The Murmur of Bees” - Sofia Segovia (Mexico) “The House on Mango Street” - Sandra Cisneros (Mexican American)

I did this this year. It including books, films, tv shows and albums. I'm going back to just recording books and albums this time though. It takes forever to make spreads for every single thing and I plan on reading a lot more next year so it will be more of a reading journal than anything else. I've literally just got one page for me to write down the films I watch since I still want to record that info but I won't be making individual pages for each film anymore, too time consuming and I can't keep up lol. I also only manage to watch about 2 tv shows a year so no point really dedicating anything to that.

of course Brasil has a lot of interesting books, but I will recommend u "Dom Casmurro" by Machado de Assis It's a classic history with a huge discussion about whether the mentioned event actually happened, or just in the main character's head There is great new books but if u are looking for an old one, here is my recommendation

Oh god. I read Before the Coffee Gets Cold in January, and I spent the vast majority of it weeping quietly, but copiously over everything. And then I did the same thing with the sequel, Tales from the Cafe, last month. One of my friends and I have concluded that Kawaguchi hurts us with his writing, he hurts us SO MUCH, but it is a GOOD hurt, an emotional catharsis, of sorts.

if you haven't already read him, i'd recommend Khaled Hosseini as a middle eastern author. The Kite Runner is very good, A Thousand Splendid Suns very much heart breaking. He does live in the US though so not sure if he qualifies anyway c; As a Swiss, I highly recommend reading some of Friedrich Dürrenmatts novels! I know you said you wanted eastern European, but nobody except us ever reads Swiss authors, lmao! "The Physicists" is hilarious if you feel like something rather short and satiric and I couldn't put "The Visit" down even if I wanted to. Oh and for Fantasy, you have to check out Trudi Canavan! She's Australian, hence qualifying as oceanian! Her ability to create different worlds of magic is astonishing. As a fellow Fantasy addict, I'm definitely goind to be looking into "A court of Thorns and Roses" if you've liked it so much! 🌍
