I was a college student when NINES AND SIXES' masterpiece was released in Japan. I had ingested magic mushrooms and listening to this album made me feel like I was flying through the blue, high, beautiful sky in a state of soul. That album gave me a good experience, thank you very much.

Just discovered these guys a week ago. They may seem underrated but for a punk band to put out more than 3 records is, means they have a local following. These guys are amazing, reminds me of Braid in a good way.

Yeah from what I read on their wiki page, they have a decent following in Japan, and their hometown. They played a 2002 here in Syracuse NY but only for about 40 people. Wiki page also lists a bunch of their songs featured in movies, and TV. Great band that deserves so much more success IMO!

These guys had a show scheduled in Syracuse NY (2002ish) at a local venue called the Lost Horizon, but something went wrong with the booking, and the band was forced to play the show in the promoters basement of a townhouse. My friends band This Afternoon were also the opening act for this particular Mock Orange show, and even though it was only about 40 people packed into a basement, both bands KILLED it! Mock Orange are probably one of the best bands on the planet, but mostly unknown, and it's a damn shame, because they deserve all the success in the world! Very cool guys when I hung out with them before, and after the show! I also gave the band every dollar I had in my wallet for CD's, tour shirts, stickers etc... I wish I still had the shirt from the tour, and stupidly let my GF at the time borrow it never seeing it (or her again). As one of the other comments here said "criminally underrated" is 100% accurate since these guys are so good with their music! Also I didn't realize Heath sang vocals one this song while playing those crazy drum parts!🤘

They now have a different guitar player after 2021, and the bass player is a different guy than the show I saw in 2002.

This song is from their first 1998 LP album "Nines And Sixes", and they eventually changed their sound/style of the music a few years later with "The First EP" 2002. Check out some other songs from their 2008 album Captain Love, and their latest 2016 LP "Put The Kid On The Sleepy Horse". You might like the direction they took the music even more than this song in the video. BTW I may not be a "boomer", but being born in 1974... I feel like I one when listening to most contemporary music these days hahaha! Rock on!🤘
