What you explained before stub is also stub only , there is no difference . You created your own implementation for bookRepository in both the cases , just file name change

Thanks for the detailed explanation Dinesh : ) . I have a question on the difference between fake test double and stub test double. Both of them are calling methods in the given explanation. While fake was returning customized answer based on the input, stub was only returning a hard-coded answer for any kind of input. Is that the only difference or am I not understanding the working completely ?

Fake is usually deployed when we have the real system already available and we want to migrate it to advance env for instance v/s Stubs can give us the same response as they don’t have logic behind them
