It's absolutely true. If you get no clothes for Christmas in Iceland, you get eaten by the Yule Cat, a huge, black and vicious catmonster. Also, naughty children get eaten by "Gryla", a nasty cannibalistic hag. Icelandic christmas legends are seriously good fun.

The ad exec would came up with that campaign must be worshipped as a god in the industry. I'm a little surprised the strategy hasn't been tried elsewhere. "Macca's for Mum's Day in Melbourne". "Taco Bell for Tu Bishvat in Tel Aviv". I can see why KFC avoided the third K sound in their slogan, though. Come to think of it; is that what the Japanese think the West does for Xmas dinner? Is it some sort of elaborate counter-mockery for what we did to sushi?

Sorry to see another random attack on Wikipedia. First heard that “joke” at least five years ago and it wasn’t either funny or true then. I have yet to find an example of Wikipedia being wrong these days, although I am sure it was wobbly to start with.

The last time I checked the "history" (today), they list a team called the Lake Shores! We NEVER had a team by that name! The Cleveland Forest Citys (SIC), yes! But NOT the Lake Shores! And that is just one example on that page!! Number two: The Superman wiki explains that the two creators, Siegel and Shuster took a lot of influence from the city of Toronto (where Shuster was born) when creating the character and the city of Metropolis. Large problem with that is that BOTH men grew up in Cleveland, were influenced by Cleveland, worked in Cleveland, used the city and it's various elements to shape the comic. AND THIS IS DOCUMENTED!!! But the wiki page still contains the wrong information!!! That's TWO (if you're keeping score) and I can go on!!

It was a joke, genius. Interesting that the only negative comments here have both slated basically the only brown comedians to appear on the show, and both on completely ridiculous grounds. A less charitable person might find that suggestive, as might someone who notes how bitterly you complain about Brexit being mocked.

Just do some digging on Frankie Boyle. You'll begin to like him. The sad truth is that the world we live in dictates that people often need to engage in very unkind or damaging things in order to get a voice or an influence. His talents meant that there was no two ways around that. His work since shows that he never meant any of it.
