The clickers were kind of fun and interesting with how you had to use a shiv, and the bow and arrow weapon was good, but other than that it was just a very dull 3rd person shooter. This is the closest thing to an explanation for James Willem's hatred for The Last Of Us. "I don't have a problem with zombie games or linear games, but I felt that The Last of Us failed to excel as both a dramatic piece of fiction as well as an enjoyable gaming experience. Another of my hotly criticized opinions is my indifference to the Uncharted franchise (I enjoyed the third one, but didn't really care for the first two, especially number one). The gameplay in The Last of Us felt repetitive to me and predictable. If I saw a chest high wall, I knew bad guys were gonna show up. "Kill rooms" are fine, but when they're less complicated than a child's playground, I get bored (for example, I thought most of the kill rooms in Tomb Raider were a lot more interesting; verticality came in to play and you could use your environment). The stealth sequences weren't any better, in my opinion. It was pretty much trial and error, until you found the safest path through, but if you were caught you pretty much does instantly and had to start from the last check point, which crushed the dramatic tension of the story. The story of The Last of Us is its strongest asset (other than the fantastic performances by the game leads), unfortunately, I had already played Tell Tale's Walking Dead which had tackled almost all of the same issues of The Last of Us, but better (opinions). Besides having less archetypal characters, Walking Dead was designed to be a dramatic story telling experience, not an action-game-zombie-movie-AAA-hybrid. Nothing in the story of The Last of Us gripped me, and I didn't have fun playing it. That's basically why I didn't like it. The graphics look great, right now, but I don't know that we'll feel that way in 3 or 4 years. That being said, anyone and everyone is welcome to love The Last of Us, because games are personal and entirely subjective. The mechanics were not the absolute best in the world, but it was an enjoyable experience, and at the end of the day, that's all you can ask for in a game. Also, it's a Naughty Dog game. There are no surprises going into it. It will be cinematic. That's what they do.

If so then I'd blame all the zombie themed stuff that made you sick and tired. so sick and tired that it took all the joy out of an amazing game. I have the same issue with Call of Duty. I played it too much and now I'm so sick of it it seems boring. But I'm not so ignorant as to say that it's a shitty game. Now do you understand were I'm coming from. I still enjoy zombies. So does the majority of Gamers out there. So to say it's a shitty game is ignorant hater bullshit.

Harald Stenhård dude make sense. be a Lil more specific because if your trying to convince me that this game wasn't great, you'll have to do a lot better then "a lot of walking and not a lot of gameplay" there is so much more gameplay than cinematic sections in this game. did you play and beat the game? it seems like most of these haters out there didn't bother beating the game or even playing the game in some cases.

As someone who still plays Runescape, a somehow living fossil, the game most MMO players' use as a go-to comparison for crap/ancient, and as someone who's been playing for 13 years, James dripping droplets of derision on the Last Of Us (haven't played it myself) is to me, like drops of water falling on the sands of an ancient desert - there is nothing left to erode from the raging hailstorms of pre-history. Seeing all the dislikes was amusing and for a moment I felt like a wise old nomad with a white beard reaching to the ground, who'd been wandering the emptiness, and then had seen a group of teenagers/20 year olds yelling at the 1 droplet of rain that had landed on their gem. And much like a nomad, my broken, crooked, partly missing yellow smile shown for just a moment. They stood on the border of a vastness of eroded dignity and honor, not know to them, their anger youthful and curious. Show them what for young Last of Us fans, show them what for.
