Good god, that takes me back. My first encounter with Mods & Rockers was one bank holiday in Margate. I was taken there as a treat in the 1960's and ended up being hidden under my guardians coat as the Mods & Rockers kicked seven bales out of each other outside of Dreamland. I can still see the carnage in my minds eye to this day.

I remember those days, my elder sister was a Hells angel, and I was a Mod. No trouble between my friends and hers though .

Great way to enjoy yourselves, my last scooter was an SX200 which I sold in 1975 for £90, could kick myself now. It was a 1966 model registration was FUF430D. It’s no longer about I’m afraid as it doesn’t show up in DVLA.

I had a Lambretta Li 150 in blue and white, cost me £60 quid second hand . Tandem leather seat and mirrors. I was 16, got my provisional driving licence in 1969 and absolutely loved my scooter. Now i'm nearly 72, and getting ready for a different type of scooter 😂.

I've had a few scooters over the years, mainly for commuting; I'm too young for the mods/rockers thing (I'm only 60!). Keep the old British traditions going, folks!

I live near Skegness, and went to the scooter rally a few years ago. Some lovely examples there. Good to see the mods still living. I wisy I'd been 20 years old in 1964. I was 2. :o(. I'd be off of this mad planet now.

That's a bloody brilliant bike! I'm envious the whole mods and rockers thing was before my time. I know there were clashes, but it must have been such a lot of pure fun. Wishing all good health. Get back on that road!

Nice collection, sorry your health problems have stopped you riding ; hope you get well enough to ride with your mates from club again. Lovely photos , so great that you & Jan have been together since when.❤ ~ I fell in love with mysterious boy who wheelied past me on way home from school every day on his trail Fantic Motor Caballero 😁 , proud to say we are still together. I will share a personal experience ; if it may help anyone out there. If you think you don't need your beloved motorcycle/vehicle that you worked on for years improving looks & performance.. One day you decide your getting older , you don't need it & go sell for much less than real value. Forgetting all hours put in. >> Think once, twice , think three times before parting with your favourite hobby❣ It broke his heart when he realised how much he missed it. Almost inconsolable, it's not just the vehicle, it's the hobby missed too. Glad too say he recovered from the upset , but it's something to consider for those of us pushing on the years. I had my sx200 in February 1970 til 1988 when I had to sell it, now me and my brother have a ‘64 Li150, a ‘66 125 special and I ride a ‘78 GP200. I like the simple look now and only have a back rest, rear crash bars and a front mudguard chrome wrap around and it’s such good fun even now I’m 70 👍😀. Would have been nice to start your old special up and have a listen 👍
