You absolutely can use prints from an inkjet printer. Just spray lightly with hairspray first, let dry. Spray again, let dry, then proceed! I use my inkjet all the time with great success. I also suggest you put a thick cardboard or thin cutting board in between the canvas bag to keep the sticky and water from penetrating the inside second layer.

I've had no luck with my ink jet printer yet, but I've baked and sprayed mine after that with hairspray and tried each independently. I'm SO frustrated; I bought a new printer to use for this purpose, and so far it's been a waste of ink, money, and time. On what surfaces have you had luck with an ink jet? I'm ready to take mine back.

Hi Lisa! Inkjet printers use water-based inks so using liquid products on top will cause it to smear. Here in our craft studio we use dry toner laser prints.

@@crazyforyoumusicalfan hey. I recommend to dry the printed sheet for atleast 48 hours before applying the mod podge. Hope that helps!

Very beautiful picture, you are transforming, I love it. My son is very crafty, he took pictures of their kids Then he ended with a family picture of them, around a real nice family saying, I had a fit over them, he told me it was easy, then he sent me directions of how it was done, then I brought it to my Sr Center, had a class and, everyone loved it and had beautiful pictures to take home. Love Mod Podge, wish I could do as good with napkins, they are beautiful.👍👍💕💕😃

@@lisablack2567 Yes. I use the dark transfers right on wood and it works amazingly well. I just finished a project a couple days ago using a dark t-shirt transfer on wood. You will need to use parchment paper over the transfer and be careful when ironing so that the transfer doesn’t yellow from the heat.

You can also use Matt Mod Podge to transfer a photo and peel the paper off and it leaves the ink behind the whole photo is gorgeous

No I copied my photo on a ink jet pro and printed it out on regular printer paper.

Just keep in mind that inkjet printers used a water based ink that will smear. Laser printers work best!

Can the heat transfer tool be used with any Mod Podge or Liquidex? I have Mod Podge Matte medium and gloss. Does it work on canvas and wood? I have a hotfix applicator used for hotfix rhinestones. Would that work for the heat transfer? Do you need mod podge when putting it on wood and canvas?

I've been having a difficult time finding napkins with print that I like on them I was at hobby lobby yesterday and they had a whole section of 8 and 1/2 x 11 and 12x by 12 pieces of paper with print on them could I use that with the mod podge putting it on t-shirts or tote bags or any kind of fabric... It needs to be a laser printer. Inkjet prints are water-based and don't transfer well.

Thanks for the video. What do you mean by if we applied water first time and rubbed it and still the photo not clear to repeat the process again? Do you mean applying water again and rub or should we add the transfer again and how many hrs should I leave it to dry again? Thanks

Much cheaper! You can just copy/print your photo’s at home and then proceed. You don’t have to buy transfer paper, which can be expensive if you are doing a lot of them.

Depends on the style of image you want, but I think that the Photo Transfer or Clear Image Transfer would be best on canvas.

The ink doesn't bleed, it's permanent! I have multiple shoes done this way and I wash them all the time. I did use clear sealer on them just to be safe tho.

yes, as long as you are using a laser printed copy. And make sure you reverse the image so your letters don't come out backwards.

In most cases, yes. As long as the painted surface can withstand water for the liquid methods or heat for the transfer tool. We recommend testing on a scrap piece to be sure.

If you do the it on a painted surface I would do it over a multi-surface paint that has fully cured either 28 days or in the oven. That way it can stand the heat and the water. Also make sure your paint has no air bubbles or the heat can make them expand.

I need help. I’ve tried this multiple times on canvas with inkjet. It seems to work ok but either the canvas image rips, the ink smudges or blurs but after peeing off a layer or two the image is crystal clear and fine but once drying out and spraying with water to repeat the process it goes all blurry and the colours smudge. If I don’t repeat the process the image looks amazing but the whole image is white and hazy with a film over it. Any help much appreciated

It's because the paper is white. Printers don't need to color the white that's why you transfer into another white surface.

Then u needed to apply wager and sponge it again. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times before the image is clear. Especially if you used an excess amount of the medium
