It looks like a nice mod. Doesn't really compare in terms of amount of content to the main 3 magic mods yet (I mean Blood Magic, Thaumcraft, and Botania. Of course there's also Ars Magicka and a few others) but it looks awesome and very well made. I have a feeling it will be cannibalized by some other mods because the power level of items is fairly low, so people will mostly use other stuff. Hope it gets bigger.

The power level is pretty high compared to most mods in 1.10. I'd say it rivals 1.10 Blood Magic for gear currently.

The achievement "I am the night" appears to be bugged. When I made it with the required bark, I got it with "Shadow Step IIII" instead of "Shadow Step IV" which didn't let the achievement work.

This is like more shamanic... Ars magica is more wizardy, witchery speaks for itself, blood magic is body necromancy, Intangible is soul necromancy, Psi is technological magic, Thaumcraft is enchanting, Botania is magic of flowers..

Have you even seen the 1.8 version of TC, nonetheless 1.9/1.10? He added essentia distributors which basically removes the needs for pipes alltogeher

It would be cool if someone made an add-on mod that made that possible. For example, using a blood alter to power your witchcraft table and vice versa, integrating Thaumcraft and Ars Magica to create even more customized spells, mixing Thaumcraft Golems and Intangible Golem so and so forth. It would be cool if you could use your Intangible powers in the Witchcraft dream/spirit world and even extract the souls of boss mobs for various reason. Heck I could see players forging a Thaumcraft item(s) to store and manipulate Souls for Intangible.

Ingame guides are awesome. I often try out mods trying to find fluent gameplay but most of the time the mods are often too contrived to get the hang of without looking at some guide or wiki. I recently played TerraFirmaCraft and it worked like a charm after looking at some introduction videos. Concise but helpful information, or relaxed in form of a calm let's play. I was always mad at let's players because they made drama instead of real gameplay footage. I really enjoy your channel, your mod spotlights really help when looking for new mods, and to learn how they work.

When you harvest the bark instead of just destroying the wood the dev should have it turn into "bare oak" which behaves the same as the regular wood except you can't get any more bark out

I was going more for a Witchery vibe, since many areas of the mod are somewhat independent (spells, rituals, a few things that are NYI), but still remain somewhat interlinked.

My main collaborator has managed to put together experimental add-ons in the past. Adding new researches, spell components, and rituals is very doable, and apparently pretty easy, too!

I feel like this may be a grand magic mod. However,you might want to add entity's. Maybe they sort of are a dead mojo thing. I mean,the player is dabbling in life magic. The added enemy's could be sort of purified to serve. But then again,this is your mod. May you do what you do.

It moved from his hotbar into his inventory for some reason. If you pay attention to his inventory throughout the video, you see that he has the staff in the first (?) slot of the third row.

This is like 7 years late but I hope you read this please. I tried making the shielding spell but apparently holding right click still allow mobs and projectiles to hit me which is very weird and seem like its not giving any effects of the spell. Why is that?

Heck, Blood Magic has "deal damage to yourself a lot" as an early game mechanic, Botania has the Mana in a Bottle effects that are pretty much purely detrimental to the person initiating it... Does the Earthspike spell SUMMON dirt from another area of the world or CREATE dirt? If it's the latter, then this modpack could be an interesting option for a nihilo-less skyblock....

It creates it. I figured it wasn't unbalanced since it only works on a few common materials, and it can be disabled if a pack dev really wants to get rid of it.

elucent Creating dirt doesn't sound problematic to me, especially seeing as it's a block I've always felt the base game should have had some method of creating to begin with. Lots of neat possibilities though :D

No joke, this looks really promising already and I'm only 5 minutes into the video. I think the ritual crafting should come at a cost, though, and I mean aside from the materials cost. Like how Thaumcraft has Essentia and Botania has Mana. Something in that vein so you have to actually work for your rituals.

So, let me get this straight... You're showing us a mod that has an easy early game (refreshing change imo), that's basicly Ars Botanica 2 (Ars Magica 2 + Botania), and in the end game allows you to ZA WARUDO everything. AWESOME! Yes, though we're running out of vanilla plants. There will be more "mutated" flowers in the future, but that system will be reworked first.

+elucent ah, okay. One more question: are you planning on having a more diverse way to modify your spells? For example right now you can only seem to modify the stats of the spell's effects, do you plan on allowing players to modify the spell in different ways or is the way they modify them now the way you intend them to be?

I don't want to go too complicated with the spell system, I like it being simple as it is now, but one idea we're toying with is having alternate casting items that can cast the spells in different ways (projectile, on melee hit, requires certain movements to cast, etc).
