Ok but real talk, one thing no one wants to admit about the Vanilla Italy focus tree is that its small size right now actually makes it very broken. With how small it is, you can rush to get a war goal against France as early as 1937 (without generating world tension to boot) and knock them out before they even join the allies, and then immediately a war goal against England after that and have the Allies gone before Austria is annexed. I admit it’s lacking right now but honestly it can be a fun focus tree and it was also my first world conquest in hoi4 on Iron Man no less

I think it’s easier to justify on France straight away because you can beat them really easily as Italy. They’ll grind themselves against your frontline and you can encircle easily with a naval invasion. Britain is also easy to invade in this war. Don’t need focus tree for much other than the factories and oil at that point

@@FLUX.2226 German tree is way better than generic for them considering the amount of factories they get, but more importantly the tank bonuses which without them, it’s lost really (in mp).

My point is that if someone calls the generic tree better than a unique one, it is because of its raw power in the 7% manpower and insane overall research bonuses, no other country can match that. The generic tree doesn't have the 2.0 years for tanks that Germany gets, but still 2x 100% for tanks while also 2x 100% for fighters and 3x for either infantry equipment or artillery, as well as 2.0 years for submarines (Germany gets none of those). I agree tho', I wouldn't want to replace my German tree with the generic one because of the things you mentioned, but I wouldn't want to replace my Italian tree with the generic one either, for similar reasons. Saying to just replace Italy's tree but no other trees is, in my opinion, treating Italy worse than they deserve.

I unironically think it's a good focus tree. Sure, it's old and has no late game content, but apart from that? Anyone can pick up Italy without getting lost in some country-exclusive mechanics, the research bonuses are good, the economy focuses are good, and you can complete all pre-WW2 politics focuses while still having time for other stuff. Their design companies and advisors on the other hand...
