03:21 about Fermi Level changing based on (forward) bias voltage, in layman terms of charges, would it be correct to (alternative/supplementary to the quite clear reasoning in the lecture) think as below? 1) The positive charge in the voltage source Va draws in electrons towards it. 2) As a consequence, the negative charges on the metal side of the depletion region which were balancing out the positive charges on the semiconductor side reduce in their concentration. 3)This allows for the electrons in the semiconductor bulk to move towards the depletion region... 4) as the concentrations increases near the depletion region, concentrations at the bulk decreases, but is "refilled" by the incoming supply of electrons from the voltage source... in effect, the concentration of electrons overall through the semiconductor has increased raising its Fermi level up ...
