«SHAMS» is one of the most popular musical groups in Tajikistan, enjoyed and admired by people from young to old. The group was established in 1989 at the Gurminj Museum, where Tajik s traditional instruments are displayed in the honor of a well known Tajik Musician, Gurminj Zavqibekov
«SHAMS» plays both traditional folklore music and contemporary pop music. The band enjoys exploring and experimenting the fusion of traditional and modern music, playing a wide range of musical instruments including national traditional instruments of Tajikistan. With ther musie, they are also inspired to demonstrate the spiritual energy of the sun - «SHAMS» means «sun» in Farsi Language.
This disc features the songs composed and sang by Dorobsho Khushvahtov, who is a key member of the band, contributing his talents to the artistic work of «SHAMS» with music compositions, vocal and guitar.
